Masses of people aren't going to suddenly start doing cocaine just because it is legal.

Kinda unrelated, but if I could get a pharmacist to assure me that the coke I was getting was clean and wasn’t laced with meth or other shitty uppers, I would do a seriously lot of Cocaine, assuming it’s legal and I’m not getting buttfricked in prison for the next 20 years.

My drug of choice would be dextroamphetamine.

It's kind of like speeding. Some people will not go above the speed limit because it is breaking the law. If you raise the speed limit, most of those people will go the new speed limit. Nevermind the fact that higher speeds are proven to cause more accidents and more fatalities. The speed limit is higher so it must be OK.

It's not even about pot. I don't smoke it and don't want to.

It's about curtailing the ever-expanding police state that has ballooned ever since the WoD was started.

That is the reason weed is illegal. Police departments, prosecutors, and for-profit prisons need their checks.

What legislation?
Presuming you're referring to laws establishing THC as a scheduled drug, it seems many/most posters here oppose it.

I'd guess the wine&spirits lobby has both hands in it as well.

It's quite obvious that the majority of people in this thread that oppose legalization have never done it (especially on a regular basis). The claims of the negative aspects & the way people act under its influence are highly exaggerated. A lot also seem to have no good argument against its legalization other than "I don't like it, so no one else should be able to do it."

There are millions of productive people in this country that smoke weed regularly. The US government has had trouble attracting enough high quality computer programmers in recent years due to the fact that many of them smoke weed.

Just look at these idiots that smoked weed:

quote:

In 1972, long before eBay or Amazon, students from Stanford University in California and MIT in Massachusetts conducted the first ever online transaction. Using the Arpanet account at their artificial intelligence lab, the Stanford students sold their counterparts a tiny amount of marijuana.

Ultimately, the argument boils down to liberty. Do you want to live in a free society or under a government that controls what you can put into your own body? Personally, I prefer freedom. You can't claim to live in "the freest country in the world" when you lock up countless people that are doing no harm to others.

Yes. There are enough idiots driving impaired as is.

If you want to be stupid in the privacy of your home I won't have a problem with it.

Unfortunately you're too fisking stupid to do it

Can't say I care one way or the other. If people get arrested for it honestly have to say I don't even care. Not my problem

I have the balls to say I don’t give a shite. All the important shot going on and whining about this?

Sort of proves what I believe about the usefulness of the activity - keep ‘me stoned and malleable

Conservatives believe in limited government except for things they don't like or care about. That makes them hypocrites.

I meantg under state regulation...sorry if I wasn't clear...

If a state wants it to be prescribed, cool, if it wants licencing, OK...
etc.
There's 50bays to skin a cat...let the states figure it out and follow the 2-3 best methods...

Reread your own statement...this isn't about conservatives...
