It is extremely difficult for me. I married a conservative women/family and the abortion thing really changed her and made her a single issue voter because of a medically necessary procedure she had to have. Because of her stance on that issue, I believe it has opened her up to consuming all the media that is associated with that side and believing more and more of those views.

I hate it. I question what to do about it every day.

Lemme' guess... You're totes a "real conservative," and Trump supporters are phony conservative "populists," right?

Nerd.

My wife held fairly liberal views before we met but she didn’t really care about politics and didn’t vote. To my surprise the other day, she told me how much she likes Tucker Carlson’s podcast and is firmly in Trump’s corner. Mission accomplished.

Not me. Me and the wife are in complete agreement politically. I chose a wife that looked good and had a brain.

My wife and I are pretty aligned. We both dislike Democrats and mostly Republicans about the same. I personally am a Trump fan but she generally considers him a politician just like the rest of them.

Who's really bad about it all in our family though is my mother-in-law (no pics). Probably about a year before covid, she started getting into politics but it was at a really speedy fervor. Almost overnight she started watching Newsmax and she was almost immediately politically radicalized.

It's pretty irritating, honestly. I start talking to her and I tell her how the GOP is also total garbage and she just won't have it. She believes everything that comes out of Hannity, Ingram, and Greg Kelly's mouths. Who's that Fox and Friends host with the "We The People" tat? If that dude looked into the screen and said "Ok, it's time to get up. Get your guns. We're going into battle..." she'd be ready to go to the front lines.

My SO was going for RFK and I can’t imagine she’ll be pleased with him endorsing Trump. I wouldn’t say our political views are extremely different, but she does have a case of TDS. Like she’ll agree with me on the issues, but it always goes back to “Orange Man Bad.”

Like it’s this Patrick and Man-Ray meme when I discuss political issues involving Donald Trump:

My wife and I are aligned. I am definitely more into politics than she is though. At this stage in my life and how our country is going, I would have a very hard time staying married to my wife if she was voting another way.

All of the no answers to this question, and still the JDbots think he's a genuine conservative and not a groomed Trojan horse.

I guess he's (D)ifferent.

I do but I have managed to drag mine back to the middle on a lot of things in the years that we've been together.

don't think she'd ever stump for republicans and especially not for Trump, just wouldn't be surprised if she didn't vote this time around. she's def not a fan of the grocery bill and the general cost of everything else under this fricked up government!

Mrs. Axe and I are both staunchly conservative minarchist.

I also try to not inject politics into everything, but there's no way I could ever be in a lifelong commitment with someone who supports and votes for pinkos.

Yes. It lends to healthy discussions and makes us both better at listening and understanding others’ points of view.

Some of y’all need to get out of your echo chamber.

According to the traditional left-right spectrum, it is. It's essentially the polar opposite of Marxism.

Hitler wouldn't have hated communism if they were related.

Name a political system that doesn't.
