I’ll unfollow if somehow just has a constant flow of extremist close minded opinions from the left or right. If it’s rational stuff thats fine, but facebook is filled with biased, skewed or fake news.

I admit I unfriended 5 progs yesterday

I had unfollowed last year before election

Then they shoew up in threads or I got nosey to see what they are spewing.

One linked Anderson Cooper criticizing Trump for golfing while parents attending funerals.

I was like are you kidding me? Trump flew down to visit victims in the hospital...and it turns into "Trump is inhumane "

I pushed back and then the rebuke and name calling started.

I unfriended because I go in dark places on what some post.

I can't deal with folks who just look to be negative all the time, in particular with Trump.

They hate him so much, I don't need to be around this energy.

Don't understand what you are saying, the left has lurched left in the recent years while the right has moderated.

I'm neither a grandmother nor a 30 something burnout without a job, so I have no reason to have a facebook account.

No, I typically laugh at them. I am a firm believer of keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

You think the rights position on Medicare Medicaid has changed the last few years?

Yes

here's another one, go watch the republican debates in the 80's about immigration.

I don't have a problem with you saying the left has gone farther to the left. i think that's true. Just don;t tell me it's only one side. Both bases are being pushed further to the fringes by their respective media fear/outrage machines. And yes there is a conservative media machine. A big one.

People change.

I have a few fraternity brothers that were rather logical and reasonable in college. Now they're screeching meme monkeys.

It may or may not have to do with their current wives.

A guy I went to high school with posted a story about his wife (an illegal alien from San Salvador) getting recently assaulted by a group of people on a New York City subway. Supposedly, the perpetrators pinched her nipples and scratched her until she bled and told her to "go back to Mexico" along with several other such cliche and stereotypical insults. He then proceeded to suggest that Donald Trump and people who voted for him were complicit in this supposed assault and encouraged his facebook friends to resist.

I responded first by offering my condolences to him and his family, but I also refuted his suggestion that somehow Trump and Trump voters such as myself were to blame. Within minutes, I was under full attack by his lib friends, calling me racist, hateful, and all of the usual garbage I've come to expect from these people. The comments were littered with black and brown fists raised in the air and "resist" memes.

Well, this made me start question this guy's story. I asked around and was told by other former high school peers that he had told the same story years ago but that many of the details were different and that nobody could confirm that it ever even happened. So, basically this guy made up a fake story about his wife being assaulted by Trump supporters in order to fire up all of his lib friends on facebook.

Needles to say, I unfriended this dude. BTW, when I went to unfriend him, I saw in his "about" section it said "Community Organizer." I have been unfriended by others because after challenging some of their posts, but this was the only person I ever personally unfriended on facebook.

I think the problem is you are not up to speed on the data.

Here's some help:

Liberals lurching to the left

Republicans moderate on issues while liberals become more extreme

Why don't you do some studying and we can chat later.

I've done it exactly once.

Alas, this last election rendered it unnecessary because liberals are some unfriending MFers.
