Trump's political enemies will conduct all-out political warfare against him. As such, no matter what Trump accomplishes, his enemies will deny it to be his achievement. The Truth will be the first casualty in the all-out war to destroy Trump.

Or do you think its just political talk? And if he does succeed in improving the lives of inner city Americans, what impact will that have on the election in 2020?
Not sure. It seems as though the inner cities are going to resist his help, and they've already started resisting by declaring themselves sanctuary cities AND jumping all over any black person that in any way communicates positively with Trump. Maybe lots of them want him to fail. I don't see how their current attitude helps that portion of them get off welfare, what's there to lose if they give him a shot?

They're going to be like the viet cong that chopped off the arms of kids who got vaccinated by the Americans. Keep people at risk of disease and death just to show people who's boss.

Do you think President Trump will improve the inner cities of America?
The solution for inner cities is getting the government the frick out of their lives and allowing them to live like normal humans instead of lab rats.
let's hope trump has it in him.

The only thing that will improve the inner cities is daily public executions of criminally corrupt Democrat bureaucrats and elected officials along with crooked cops, gangbangers, pimps, and welfare fraud perpetrators.
So I'm not overly optimistic.

MLK was a great leader for a generation that is entirely passed on or too geriatric to make a difference- or worse, were instrumental in actively creating the situation we have today. Many of his associates turned into race hustling shysters (Johhn Lewis, Jesse Jackson) and there's a good chance he may have too with enough time and fame. His legacy is that he gave race hustlers carte blanche to keep blacks on the plantation as long as his martyrdom can be pointed to as justification for the bitching, moaning, and shiftlessness.

I think Trump can move the ball forward. It will take generations to fix.

No he won't because he doesn't know how to nor does he care. Nothing in his history shows even the slightest bit of philanthropic nature and that won't change just because he's President. You're delusional if you think otherwise

He's shown a willingness to try.

Depends on if the reverends and preachers get involved. They've been fleecing the inner cities for decades while not offering much help.
I am still of the belief that the communitiies need to play a more active role. A very well known investor here in Houston who happens to be a very good friend of ours did a pilot project in two neighborhoods in Houston. One effort was to be led by an outsider with no connection to the neighborhood. The other was, you guessed it, a local preacher who was fairly well respected.
Results after year 1 - the outsiders neighborhood increased employment by 20 or so percent (many of the Houston Rodeo transport vehicles were drivers from this specific hood. Crime remained the same. The preachers hood had a net 10% loss in jobs, the clubhouse was burned to the ground and crime increased 10-20%. This was an apples to apples comparison - similar demographics, similar neighborhood.

That's easy to say. So what specifically should he do the opposite of?
Republicans and Trump are scant on ideas to actually improve inner cities because they have zero interest in doing so. This is to answer the OP.
The government can provide all the assistance and resources they want. However, the overwhelming amount of scum in these inner cities will need to have a desire to help themselves as well. Which will never happen.

Rule of Law (stop and frisk) and School Choice. Those two alone will "improve the inner cities" and win Trump 15% of the Black vote.

He will if they let him. They have to swallow their pride/hate of all things big R for this to happen though. If they can get over the fact that it is a Republican helping them, then yes, he will help improve the inner cities of America.

My prediction is that he tries, but Progs like Lewis and his ilk (you see them post here as well) will just declare racism at any potential action to block it.
If they allow someone like Trump to improve any of these situations, it would decimate their party and they know it.
So it will be business as usual with the left.

Like I said....
You will see folks like this come out to stop it IF he does try.

It's political talk. He said what he thought others wanted to hear. Wait for it.

I think he has a genuine intent to see that start to take shape.
However, in my opinion, it would not take long for the ingrates and low-life's to frick it all up to be damned in every imaginable way.
The only real way to revitalize cities is to incentivize young suburbanites to leave their cookie cutter communities on the outskirts to move in town. It will not be easy, because cities carry reputations, and reputations are often earned for a real reason.

This isn't a shot at Trump, some shite just isn't going to be fixed by a President.
Posted on 1/17/17 at 9:07 am to ChexMix
He will try but you can fix this shite. The only solution would be to go door to door and lock up criminals. The Gia should be to help the people that live there because they are poor not to try and rehabilitate a thug. Remove the thugs and put them in prison and make the hood safe for others.

You need massive Sex education training. Too many kids that are out in terrible situations that could have been avoided
They don't give a damn about safe sex or sex education. The only way to stop all these unplanned single mother pregnancies is to quit rewarding it with more welfare $. You make it known that no extra money will be given for a second or third child and they will stop having those second and third children.
