Or do you think its just political talk? And if he does succeed in improving the lives of inner city Americans, what impact will that have on the election in 2020?

Best way to improve it is put up a fence and hand out guns with unlimited ammo

We are talking more about them now compared to at any point during the outgoing POTUS term(s).

Can't get much worse. I mean what do they have to lose?

Hard to say as much of what afflicts inner cities is local politics. With that said, if his idea of "help" is pumping more money into law enforcement, it's likely not to be well received.

Do you also feel that meeting with African American leaders and influential members is political posturing as well? No honest intent to make a difference?

He will make an honest effort but most of those people are too fricking stupid to. Enhelped. The best thing he can hope for is getting better education for the ones their that are really trying but stuck in poverty. The others he needs to go in and raid their homes for guns and drugs and just lock them up and remove them from the neighborhood so the decent people no longer live in fear.

Wouldnt sending in the national guard to police the streets be a step in the right direction? School choice? Additional HUD programs centered on low income families?

That's easy to say. So what specifically should he do the opposite of?

Republicans and Trump are scant on ideas to actually improve inner cities because they have zero interest in doing so. This is to answer the OP.

would that be why he is bringing in influential Black Americans that know exactly what its like to live in those environments, know how to escape them and to succeed in our society? Maybe thats why he is reaching out

ETA: if he wasnt interested in helping, he would never had brought the subject up. He would never had asked for help. He wouldnt have appointed Carson in charge of HUD. He wouldnt have been the first Republican candidate to actually attempt to speak to the Black community.

Literally anything would be an improvement over the last eight years. The bar isn't exactly very high. I hope he focuses on education and by focus I mean remove government influence.
