It's pretty naive to continue to think any one person can fix all that bullshite.

Stop pretending to care and just avoid it if you can and move on with life.

Can any politician or piece of legislation create sweeping change in these communities? I thought this was right in Obama's wheelhouse with "hope and change"?
The ugly truth is that this type of transformation can only come from within and will be generational in scale. The uglier truth is that the status quo guarantees a voting bloc.

If a true effort is made, everyone will take notice and the status quo will be broken

I don't know if he'll have any noticeable success, but I do know that he will at least try.

As one falls, another will take his place.

The states of these inner cities are a national emergency. We have more blacks dying in our cities than battle fields in the middle east. They need help

I think he wants to. I'm pretty sure he will try. I can't believe he actually knows what the problems are or how deeply entrenched they are.

If we can get the economy booming and jobs out there, I think there is a good chance

I think he really wants to. The man has been in real estate his entire life. He has traveled to these cities. He has seen the crumbling inner cities and national infrastructure. This is his kind of business. Now, he can do it to help people and just not make a profit. He understands the logistical and financial side of it; his advisors will be there for the social side.

Hard to say as much of what afflicts inner cities is local politics. With that said, if his idea of "help" is pumping more money into law enforcement, it's likely not to be well received.

That part is true but it is drastically needed. Inner cities are way under policed.

He will find a way to make a differnce, and in turn make political inroads in these communities.

I'm sure he'll try but the truth is that politicians in any major city will reject his efforts and inner cities are typically only improved through gentrification.

I agree but the real problem has become a cultural problem. How do you overcome 50 years of democratic policies destroying the black family and get them back to two parent homes.

How do you get them to stop having babies outside of marriage. How do you get them to graduate from high school?

Unless the culture changes no amount of money can ever fix the problem,

You can't change a culture and a people that has no interest in bettering themselves.

I agree but that is the giant elephant in the room that no politician wants to touch with a fifty foot pole. Trump, however, has come the closest to doing that by even talking about the inner cities.

To fix the problem, it is a 20 year plan at least. You need massive Sex education training. Too many kids that are out in terrible situations that could have been avoided. You also need massive vocational education programs to get kids training so they can get jobs above minimum wage when they graduate at 18. Raising minimum wage so the poor can live off of it isn't working.
