These things will afford massive amounts of tomfoolery to whoever finds their hands on the lever.

I guess there's no stopping progress, but man... The internet will be nothing but eggshells very soon.

Well, they're not people so I don't trust or distrust them.

These massive stations with untold computing capability will have an undertone to them that the populace cannot grasp.

With the patterns and personal data they will mine the possibilities for algorithmic manipulation go so far beyond the little things that are already accessible to the power structure.

It's a simple reasoning deduction (on my part). I believe that we're already being actively data mined and manipulated by tech. Our online presence is definitely not free. Slight nudges here and there have influenced us. Things we share are secretly captured.

Now, that structure of influence is metastasizing. It's getting more powerful. Faster and with a much larger storage capacity.

Will there be full transparency (data log - checks and balances) with these behemoths? I have my doubts about that.

My question is what are these data centers processing.

You can only create so many fake cat videos or music videos from a single photo.

And when it comes to creative works like songs or images, it should be labeled or credited to AI.

People program computers. These computers also learn as they go.

I don't know. Was in Austin this past weekend. I walked the dogs around my son's neighborhood and there were "No Data Center" signs along with Talarico signs in the Libs yards. Almost makes me pro Data Center.

I trust that they will increase energy rates as long as they are not coupled with new power stations.

They are not magically immune to supply and demand.

They'll eventually need to hook humans up to them. Humans will be bred just for this purpose.

Computer being delivered in 1957.

You could fit 5000 times the compute on the head of a pin nowadays in 2026. (Wild guess:)
