I think part of the problem is that some employers or companies take this crap seriously, and they follow these rediculous protocols (i.e. California), and some don't want to be out of work for two weeks, until they prove a negative COVID test to the HR department. It's a lot of bs.
It happened to me recently. Very irritating..but, yes the mask thing is a complete joke. It's seems some people may still be wearing this shite through out the remainder of this decade. Unbelievable.

Yep. I picked my daughter up at the airport yesterday. She and her husband were wearing masks. She is 12 weeks pregnant, so there’s that, but still, I thought it was goofy.

Oh, they live in Seattle.

Oh know! I’m sorry to hear that.

That’s a tough situation when your kid dictates what your grandkid can do.

That’s really bad. Don’t end a relationship but that’s messed up.

I have a 60+ y/o cancer survivor friend in ICU and they just placed her on BiPap during the night. She's taking it pretty seriously.

My mom's aunt has not left her house since March 2020 and won't let anybody in.

My decades-long best bud realizes it is overblown but still swallows the notion that the injections "obviously" minimize the complications of covid.

Somebody tested (the horror!) "positive" a month ago, and immediately the powers that be at my small place of employment insisted we all get "tested". I was actually shocked, naively did not realize people still lost their shite about covid. They dished out test kits to all, and I was again stunned that they were adamant we test immediately. I... "dealt" with the test kit (but even then I was worried there could be a false positive). The mindless reaction creeped me out for the next 12 hours.

Some people ARE still quite scared. I've family sympathetic to my views, but they still ignorant of statistics and worry about "children" blah blah blah..

Hope perceptions become clearer! In the meantime, I shall live life and feed the squirrels.

My three best friends got it, all three beat down for a week. All under 50.

My parents got it bad, but got the monoclonal antibody treatment. That saved them from going to the hospital.

One of my Mom’s best friend got Delta variant and died in the hospital with it.

So, yes, people I trust actually got some bad cases of Covid.

My step dad thought he was having a heart attack yesterday and went to the emergency room. He tested positive. My mom is not feeling great but tested negative. They live in Florida.

I'm a bit worried. They are old and have health issues..

I don't think many people doubt that covid can be serious. The question is- does it deserve more fame than the average flu? Statistically, the answer is NO.

I fully agree. My reply was not to the OP, my reply was to another reply in the thread. I omitted the “Post Quote” in my reply by mistake. Fixed that.

FWIW, I never thought the economy should be shut down, never believed in masks or the “vaccine” either. So I didn’t follow mandates.

I see more and more masks in airports over the last month....

Minorities overwhelmingly wear more masks!

Yeah, I do. A friend that was a grade under me in high school. 55 year old male, Covid, damaged his lungs, 7 months in hospital, passed away last month.
BTW, I’m unvaccinated and don’t buy into the shot or masks.
I had it in January of this year, I don’t ever want it again. Took months to fully get over it.

Yeah. My mom's on life-support with CV19 as we speak. I take it seriously.

I presume though you not referring to potential lethality of CV19 to vulnerable people, but rather the unscientific pansocietal responses to it.
