Do some of you not realize that legally blind does not actually mean someone is blind?

It simply means without correction, I.e. glasses or lenses, you are considered legally unable to visualize things for safety purposes as an example.

I had a friend that was legally blind because their glasses prescription was so strong and could only be corrected so much. It does not mean you are actually blind.

Technically anyone with a prescription in at least one eye that is -2.5 or worse is legally blind without corrective lenses. It does not mean the shop manager can’t see at all.

Very true. My dad was legally blind, but could still read the newspaper.

I’m legally blind myself in one eye. My eyesight wasn’t good enough for the military but I can drive and read books just fine.

If the guy can’t identify someone’s face, that’s pretty damned blind

Tell that to Hunter's lawyer that called him and asked for his stuff back.

This is false at least in Louisiana. Legal blindness is defined as visual acuity of 20/200 or worse that isn't correctable. If glasses or contacts improve vision to better than 20/200, then that person is not legally blind.

I’m legally blind, but I wear contacts so that I see normal. Didn’t realize people that it meant people were actually blind

Even people that are actually blind can pick up shapes here and there sometimes.

I have two uncles and an aunt who were all legally blind...in their older years they’ve become almost totally blind but what you’ve said is correct.

One of my uncles worked for the state for decades and used a special magnifying glass to do his job. I suspect this is the case with the shop owner.

Legally blind people will sometimes progress to totally blind but like this repairman, until that happens they’re able to function.

Correct. Anything worse than 20/200.

Without contact lens or glasses I could recognize that you are human from 15 feet away. But I could not tell whether you were male or female. Not a joke.

Legal blindness is defined as 20/200 or worse vision in your better seeing eye with your best correction.

To sum it up you are not legally blind if contacts or glasses allow you to see better than 20/200 in at least one eye.

What does this have to do with anything or is it just a random thought?

Neither. It was designed to piss you off. It succeeded.
