I was just listening to a pod cast by Stefan Moleneaux about some fundamental differences between the typical worldview of men versus women. It was an intro to the topic of “evil women” and how that group is typically different from “evil men”.

I like Moleneaux and he is very insightful, but he has a habit of overextending his argument beyond a reasonably firm foundation, and he gets ahead of himself. I think that’s a common trait for many super smart people. Nevertheless, he usually makes some logical connections that are very insightful.

Anyway, this particular podcast explores how the biology of women, specifically the evolutionary drive to provide for and protect their children, places in them a primary focus on maintaining access to immediate resources. The group dynamic is rooted in the need to create support systems for this function.

These and other biological instincts, he proposes, makes women more susceptible to arguments of immediate sympathy/empathy, whereas men can be more rooted in abstract principals of right versus wrong, and long term strategies for individual and group success which may seem harsh in the moment.

The immigration caravan issue is an example he cites. He points out that women are hardwired to be more sensitive to the suffering of the people in the caravan, whereas men are more likely to consider the long term consequences of encouraging more people to immigrate illegally.

I’d like to hear from the women on this board, especially the self-identified conservative women. Do you think this argument has merit? Do you notice other women using group dynamics to enforce a collective opinion based on empathy? What makes you different?

I care. Not because of the BS spewed by talking heads but the actual people making the laws. It effects me in a very real way every day in that it impacts my paycheck, other taxes and fees and often seeks to control and regulate what I can do.

The fact that there are people out there looking to limit or outright ban constitutional rights based on how they feel is disconcerting.

Calling a Supreme Court justice nominee a rapist for shite that happened damn near 40 years ago AND could not be proven just because he dared to be a conservative is disconcerting.

Yahoos calling Trump “literally Hitler” and then advocating for democratic socialism is disconcerting.

So, yes I care and I pay attention. I also vote.

I am female, I vote, and I don't follow group speak or empathy etc.

I tend not to listen to radio talking heads because when I listen, I hear what's said the first time it's said.

I read several newspapers on line, daily, and am horrified at the spin put on. I will go searching for the home town newspaper versions of news items for a more thorough version of a slanted story.

I am interested in foreign governments and I especially read about Merkel and may never understand her reasons.

Nigeria scares me because it is a country with so many riches and so many tribes, religions and ways to self destruct. I also follow some countries where my grandfather served as a diplomat because he used to talk about them, their people, and where he thought they were going to evolve to.

My husband is a lot more media addicted.

How do you view other women’s political acumen? Do you see the collective group think of platforms like Facebook as representative of how most women involve themselves in politics?

No. Not the ones I know. Well, maybe I should really say that very few women I interact with at work and on a more personal level understand politics. They think they do but most of them sound like Ocasio-Cortez.

The more right leaning ones tend to have a better grasp on how political choices impact their day to day lives.

Sounds like many posters are agreeing with the sterotypes about how certain GOP women vote as their husband tells them/ influenced by spouses.

The same is true with the left it’s just reversed. The wife tells the husband how to vote.

Mic drop.

My wife just asks which candidates are furthest from communists. Today it's easy to just tell her straight R in Florida.

Conservative female here. I read this board and several other sites daily, but don’t post much - usually due to not having enough time.

I’d say I talk politics much more with my male friends than female friends and with my dad more than my mom. I won’t engage with someone on politics unless I know they’re conservative and I change the subject if a liberal starts in on something. I have no interest in trying to debate. It’s pointless.

I debate liberals IRL all the time. It's not pointless. It's fun to watch their reactions when they get smacked with logic. The most common reactions are:

1. Yeah, I see what you mean.
2. Well, I just disagree.
3. I don't wanta talk about it anymore.
4. You just don't care about people.

Interestingly, I've never been called racist, sexist or homophobic IRL debates.

Of course they care about politics, especially white suburban women. It is their vehicle to assuage their white guilt. They don't want to give any of their money via taxation, as they'd rather spend it on material goods. That's why the "tax the rich" mantra resonates with them -- they can make someone else pay for their guilt.

No more than I consider places like TD as how most men involve themselves in politics. Women, or men, who are looking for attention and “likes” are going to involve themselves in that way. Those of us who are actually interested in learning tend to involve ourselves in other ways.

I live and work in a highly liberal area/profession. I have lots of friends who are liberals. I tend to just not say anything about anything in those environments. I have my own opinions and convictions and another person’s opinions and convictions aren’t going to change them.

I vote my own conscience and don’t let ANY commercial, Facebook ad or Russian bot sway me.

Yeah, this is pretty much me. Usually when something political comes up with someone I suspect is an sjw or leftist I just change the subject. I’m not going to change their mind. Now, I will drop tiny red pills whenever I get the chance but I won’t directly debate.
