That's true but I don't think that is exactly what this was about.
The OP was about having small amounts of African ancestry showing up in DNA.
I think that's maybe a different question.
My sister had her DNA done and I said good because now I don'y have to have mine done.
But both her and my brother (who has a Biology B.S.) said I was wrong and that I could have different mixes of ancestry in my NDA than my sister.

With regards to this thread, people have seemingly only read press around the discovery of Graecopithecus and not the papers themselves. If they had, they would know that what makes Graecopithecus unique is that it isn't related to Chimpanzees but also shows no relation to the Homo genus. The strongest claim the authors of the paper make is that the Eastern Med. cannot be ruled out as a possible site of the diversification of ancestral apes, not that the Homo genus is from the Eastern Med. The overwhelming amount of evidence, from genetic data to the fossil records indicate that the "out-of-Africa" model is the stronger than other theories, including the multi-regional hypothesis (which has been dead since the 90s). That people now breathlessly claim that the Homo genus didn't originate out of Africa, as has been insinuated on this board numerous times, is as much a function of the "citation culture" as is the need for every claim to be cited.

Culture or civilization? There is DNA evidence to suggest that Aborigines in Australia have the oldest "civilization," but the oldest continuous culture is a different story, as cultures are not static. We'd have to move from a very strict definition of culture. Regardless, the evidence for civilization, as we generally think of it, would be Mesopotamian, as they have the oldest cities, languages, and relative mastery of their environment.
Regardless, that thought exercise does nothing to dispel the notion that Homo sapiens sapiens originated anywhere other than Africa. The oldest Omo (in Ethiopia) remains are dated to 160,000 years ago, nearly 80,000 years before remains found in the near East, in Israel. There was a discovery of fossils this past year that date to 300,000 years ago, which were found in Morocco. The genetic data also supports the African hypothesis, with the Mitochondrial Eve living later than other Homo species (ruling out Heidelbergensis and Neanderthalensis) but earlier than migration projections out of Africa.

Building pyramids,provided work for a long time,in a confined area,but once completed,were no good to any living soul.
Are they profitable even now? If you factor in the cost,and update it comparably to today's estimations.
