No. They are both descended from Abraham. This has been common knowledge for five thousand years.
Nice try, though.

What do scientists call Abraham? Jew, Canaanite, or Sumerian?
Well he wasn't a Jew, though he is considered the father of Judaism. He was a Hebrew; who were the descendants of Eber, son of Shem

Learning how the Jewish people absorbed and "evolved" the gods of Canaan is pretty fascinating
quote:El and YHWH have always been references to the same entity. What "evidence" are you referring to?
There is some evidence that early Jewish beliefs had Yahweh even below El
quote:El is a moniker for different aspects of God's character, not distinct "gods."
ultimately El turned into the monotheistic version of much of the pantheon of Canaanite gods
quote:This is one of the RARE things you say that's actually correct
Muslims stole their god concept from Jews
Has there ever been a court ruling you disagree with?

None of the above.

Most Christians today believe in a Trinity, a teaching not found in the bible.

I think the Bronze Age is the most fascinating period in human history and I've just started looking into the originations of these gods and how they were absorbed, transferred, and transformed as humanity was developing.
I'm somewhat distracted because I really want to look into something else related in concept but not time (Gnosticism)
It's bad enough you think you know other things you comment on. Now you're going to get religion all screwed up in your head. You're probably going to turn into another Acharya S\D.M. Murdock lunatic

I mean it is pretty much an eye of the beholder/sharpshooter fallacy scenario

Its not ironic at all. They both agree they descended from Shem, hence why they are referred to as Semites

This shouldn't be controversial at all. Of course the original Arabs and Jews are from the same semitic region.
The modern issue is the Eastern European of Jewish faith that pretend they are genetic Semits and if you call it out you get labeled antisemitic.

A quick, authoritative read is Elaine Pagel's "The Gnostic Gospels."
FWIW, I now view my "Gnostic phase," as a serious departure into heresy. The Spirit moves in mysterious ways. Maybe that phase was necessary to get me where I am.

I'd highly recommend "The Bible Unearthed," by Israel Finkelstein and Neil Silberman
The entire book can be summed up:
"I don't see evidence for what the Bible claims" as if absence of evidence is evidence of absence

The Canaanites are not descended from Abraham. Most of you seem to be using Canaanite and Arab interchangeably, but they are not necessarily the same, The Biblical narrative is that the Canaanites were already in the promised land when the descendants of Abraham arrived.

In a way.
God blinds those who refuse to see or humble themselves.
Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”
Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains. -- John 9:39-41
