You celebrate Disney's support for grooming kids?

Do you have a clue as to how disgusting that is?

I don’t, but Trump does. The above was a tweet from his campaign

If they were going to spend $1 billion, build a new complex, hire a bunch of people and have decided not to do it in Florida, where are they going to do it?

Disney is in NO POSITION to spend $1 billion on anything right now. All of their parks are bleeding money.

Disney and DeSantis are just in an old fashioned pissing match right now trying to make each other look as bad as possible.

Why damage your own state's prospects for a political campaign (which is what this is)?

When the company is openly saying they’re going to campaign against a measure very popular in a state I’m beyond fine with the state telling them to get fricked.

bullshite!

Disney's entered the political fray in behalf of grooming K-3 kids. Disney deliberately mischaracterized and attempted to undercut Florida's efforts to desexualize K-3 classrooms.

Now Disney will displace 2000 future employees to a high-tax state costing those employees/families >$30M/yr in retaliation for Florida calling them out on grooming?

F*#k Disney!
Trump had damn well better tread lightly on this.

Disney just laid off like 4500 people.

They probably scaled back these plans for economic reasons, but are blaming it on DeSantis.

The Parks aren't even the worst of their business right now. Their streaming service is costing them a fortune.

I thought their Parks were carrying the whole company.

Let me get this straight, a company who is already getting major tax benefits from the state goes out of their way to try to subvert state law, the legislature smacks them down, and that's considered weakness? It seems to me that weakness would be doing nothing like Trump did when every social media platform took away the public's right to hear from their president.

FYI, Disney just announced the closing of their stupid Star Wars bullshite in Florida.

They have other issues than just trying to stick it to DeSantis...

Nowhere. Because they can't afford to spend $1 billion right now on office space when their parks need constant investment and their streaming service is in the gutter.

Trump is pro-business obviously. I respect that. But Disney choosing not to build a $1 billion operation in Florida but being vague on when/where it's being built tells me that DeSantis or public policy in Florida has nothing to do with their decision.

Disney is reporting park health like Biden's jobs report every quarter. They say they're "up 20%" or whatever but they're comparing it year over year and they hit 0% during Covid. They're still playing major catch up.

I don't think it's that big a deal. Trump will hit Ron for it because it's money on the table, but 2,000 jobs in FL isn't that big - they add over 400,000/yr lately.

That said, I'm all for going after Disney, but I've always said I don't like carpet-bombing them instead of a surgical strike.

I agree. I give them credit in using this as an opportunity to virtue signal, but I think that's what it is. They aren't making that investment because it's a shite time to make it, but if they can blame it on Ron and put some pressure on him, well why not? It's bullshite and more evidence that everything is political.

The office being canceled has been in limbo for a few years.

The creative types out in cali had a riot when told they had to move out of LA and over to Fl.

Creatives are the heart and soul of their business (and the woke infection). So the whole thing got put on hold about 1.5-2 years ago.

Iger announced about 17 billion in investments to the parks (most of which would be going to disney world)

Theres not much political here except a little window dressing

Igers bluffing.. he knows damn well that Fl is a better environment than any of their other hubs. They are using DeSantis as cover for the shitty economy.. as this is the same company who’s shedding subscribers left and right across multiple platforms.

And trumps a spoiled bitch who’s a meme of his former self.
