Disney CEO Robert Iger wasn’t bluffing earlier this month when he said on an investors call that the company was rethinking its plans to increase its investments in Florida amid “retaliation” from Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). Now Disney is cancelling plans to build a massive nearly $1 billion office complex in Orlando, costing the state more than 2,000 six-figure jobs.

Trump campaign tweets the following:
“RON DESANCTIMONIOUS GETS CAUGHT IN THE MOUSE TRAP

The Culture Of Losing Continues

DeSanctus’ weakness leads to job losses and loss of $1B.”

Culture wars are never easy, and there will be pain along the way.

That doesn't mean they are not worth fighting, because the alternative is awful.

Some people are just too much of pussies to have the stomach for it.

This ironically is something I agree with Trump on.

Why damage your own state's prospects for a political campaign (which is what this is)?

I don't think Florida is struggling. Good luck going to California or New York.

Arguing jobs when the issue is the safety and well being of children is not a winning strategy.

You celebrate Disney's support for grooming kids?

Do you have a clue as to how disgusting that is?

Meh.

Unless they are going remote, they will build that in LA at a much higher cost and require far higher salaries to fill those positions.

Iger is cutting his nose to spite his face.

Then we need to do a cost-benefit analysis. Is the forgone revenue from that project greater than the cost of the current policy to the taxpayers of FL?

I don't know, but I wouldn't assume Disney is "winning" anything with this announcement.

Why won't DeSanctus bend for for groomers like Trump did for Fauci? I love politicians who don't believe in anything. Trump 2024! It will be like the liberals are running everything but we can feel good about it. No more RINOs, and no more conservatives. MAGA for life.

Just invested in a new Trump NFT will Fauci bending him over for his 12th jab.

Can't cost a state if it was never even in existence

Because 10 years ago, I, like most people, didn't really care about culture wars. I just wanted my taxes cut and government off my back.

And then I woke up one day to trannies everywhere.

Stupid to celebrate this. In reality, this is a net gain for Florida and a net loss for Disney.

Florida loses a bunch of California transplants who will reliably vote blue, Disney loses more in taxes because they've decided not to move.

You prefer Desantis turn his back on everything he stands for and everything he's worked for to keep family's safe and strong for mouse money? Sorry but I applaud him for staying strong and making a tough and likely unpopular decision.

Culture of Losing?? No this is winning the real fight.

No it’s not. It’s wrestling control from a corporation that has had special carve outs within his own state.

If you choose Not to play politics with your publicly held company, you have nothing to worry about.

You chose poorly.
