I'm a progresssive and I can tell you that the number of us who actually believe the 2nd amendment should be repealed is minuscule.

Common wish list:
Enact gun registration

Enact strict background checks

Enact law to allow for LE to temporarily suspend gun ownership, pending hearings, if they come across someone who appears psychologically disturbed (like FL kid)

Eliminate gun show loophole which, currently, allows for gun running from gun shows straight into places like Chicago and DC.

Restrict private, unlicensed sales of guns.

Outlaw semi-automatic weapons which can be accessorized to become weapons of war.

Outlaw bumper stocks, high capacity magazines/clips


I know the argument is that even with all of this in place, bad people will still get guns. And for some people that may be true but, by and large, most people who are looking to commit mass murder do not have the means and stealth to bypass all of these proposals to obtain a weapon. Meanwhile, good, solid gun buyers, like many on this board, will have no issue obtaining weapons for self-defense or hunting.
