Discussion I had with a TDS patient

Didn’t watch the trial but he’s sure Trump’s guilty. Didn’t care that democrats manufactured evidence and omitted evidence they didn’t want people to see.
The patient revealed that he hates Trump because of his demeanor. I told him he’s thinking like a woman and voting on emotion and superficial things.
Patient says he thinks Beijing Joe is a ‘good man’. I asked what policy he was excited about and he couldn’t name any.
I pointed out some of Beijing Joe’s executive orders and how those could negatively impact his life and he said “that’s just spin from republicans”.
I did get him to admit that Hunter Biden’s business activities look suspicious but he immediately followed that up with something about bad orange man’s kids looking suspicious.

No amount of evidence will persuade an idiot. That TDS patient is an idiot.
This is the way they operate. "Well, Trump's kids are just as bad!" The truth is they aren't, and not even close.

It's not surprising though when 90+ percent of news coverage of Trump was so horribly biased. The news media are completely partisan, and they no longer 'report' the news. They make it/shape it.
I am truly saddened to see what people in my line of work have become.

I watched the count release with a TDS infected family yesterday and you'd think it was the Super Bowl. They cheered like touchdowns were scored for every one of the 7 treacherous votes that came out.

While I don't think it's true in all circumstances, it's fairly common to see that you can't reason a person out of a position they did not reason themselves into. If they got to that point via some emotion, reason will usually not be the thing that gets them to change their mind.

Well, I don't have any patients and am losing my patience. I have never ever gotten a rational conversation with any of the 'hate Trump' cabal. I have lost contact with 4 of my 5 grandchildren because the accuse me of 'being negative' when all I want to do is discuss the events of the day and ask "WHY???"
Thankfully my one granddaughter that is still conservative is the only one who has - or ever will have - children. She has 3 of the brightest kids I have ever seen. (Well - one is only a toddler, but the other two are bordering on genius)
My only fear is that by the time they reach voting age they will have been brainwashed by the educational and journalism institutions.
As for forums like this, TD is the only one where there is even a semblance of actual discussion - most are mostly echo chambers where any question or plea for discussion is either ignored, reported, or banned.
