Did you prefer America when the Insufferable Moralists were on the Right or the Left ?

Personally I miss the old days when the insufferable finger-pointing scolds that wanted to save your soul were holding a bible and hypocritically railing at you from your Right . They were so much less malevolent and easier to just laugh and dismiss. Find Jesus! Repent!
This new breed of insufferable scolds on your Left take things WAY too seriously and there is always a hint of impending violence in their Fundamentalist evangelism. You are a racistsexisthomophobe! Repent! Or else !
All I had to do to appease the insufferable Moralists on The Right was smile and say ok, sure, whatever and they’d leave me alone. These insufferable pseudo-religious Fundamentalist Moralists on The Left are EVERYWHERE and they are never happy with my moral progress. Nothing is ever enough.
I think it’s time we consider bringing back the old school insufferable religious Moralists . We can replace the SJW worst-people-ever snowflake Moralists with some old school Jimmy Swaggart trolling-Airline-Hwy-for-hos Moralism.

I'm still very close to some of my friends from childhood, and most of them turned out leftist. It's so weird seeing people who were against the establishment right's morality police as teenagers suddenly turn into support of controlling everyone's thoughts and actions so as to not hurt people's feelings.

To be fair the Westboro people were hated by the right-wing more than the left for their blatant picketing of military funerals. The left was used to gays getting hate.

I think both sides have "insufferable moralist". You still have the bible people telling everyone they are going to hell if they don't get saved who base their whole political views around whether or not someone is pro-life or pro-choice.
But now you have people who are going to the extremes everytime someone says or does something they don't like. It's getting to the point where comedians are getting criticized for making jokes.
If you are pro-choice and made a joke about a gay person you are pretty much fricked.
Personally, I consider the ultras from both sides to be similar. They have similar mindsets. just with different views. They both think their views are right and everyone else is wrong. They can all kiss my arse.
