Serious question, no disrespect to the soldiers (probably in this thread) who served in Iraq. Not personally, but collectively, what did the U.S. accomplish in Iraq?

A friend I graduated college with died in 2005 in Iraq (Bradley/IED). I’m certain you military guys know how horrific a death those guys suffered. Though his family was very proud of him and patriotic, years later, I met up with his brother and he had grown very bitter over the ‘why’ of the occupation. What is your insight? thx

We'll see if we learned our lessons from mistakes past. Wisdom comes from living through mistakes and not repeating them in the future.

The Persian people at large have been absolutely begging us to do something to help. Israel's involvement could also potentially be taken as an olive branch between the historically at-odds cultures as well.

Praying for the best. Time will tell.

The complete unashamed 180s that this board has done on Epstein, foreign interventions, regime change and feeding the military industrial complex is completely staggering.

It wasn’t even a slow change. It was overnight minute to minute changes.

IDK. Being there didn't give me any insight a civilian doesn't have. In some ways, I had less.

I remember a few days into the invasion I got to use a satellite phone to call home. Everyone at my parents house jumped on the line asking for updates and 'what's really going on right now.' I said I could see something burning a few hundred yards ahead. Turn on the TV and tell me what the hell's going on.

There is literally a unironic thread about how this weekends events should be a wake up call to ramping up the MIC with the majority clapping right along.

Imagine that thread 8 months ago.

Who gave Iran billions of US dollars?

I’m just asking. You know Iran stated that as soon as they made a nuclear weapon that they would use it against Israel and the USA?

What outcome can you possibly envision if Israel got eliminated by
a nuclear weapon that doesn’t include
a nuclear weapon being detonated on
American soil?

You premise is predictable and weak.

Netanyahu has been making this threat since the 90s.

They are always a week or a month away.

Additionally. Both Israel AND the Trump administration said 8 months ago that our bunker busters were successful in debilitating the nuclear program for the foreseeable future.

And we did it without regime change.

Did our intelligence suck then?

Charlie Kirk is unquestioned in MAGA credentials.

8 months ago he called the actions in the last 48 hours “insane”

No.

I’m claiming that in the campaign season and even the first 6 months of this administration that was one of the most pressing issues to bring those involved to justice.

Within 24 hours a few months ago it turned from that to a democrat hoax.

The real question is why this action did not take place in 1979, or at any other conjecture where regime funded terrorists killed US soldiers or civilians?

Well for one, Obama was sending them pallets of cash. I don't think anybody, especially Dims on this board have ever addressed that
