Do you really need to be in that great of shape to shoot some fat ugly pink-haired cuunt with rubber bullets?

They do go to combat, the reserves as well. THIS is who they are.
We had multiple units rotate to us while I was in Afghanistan and they are clueless. Their job was irrelevant there. They did route clearing and base defense, that was it.
There are some good Guard and Reserve units, but this is the majority of all of them from every state.

Those are a lot of heavy drops and door bundles (IYKYK).

No idea. But in no way is that a fighting force ready for combat.

Embarassing to say the least.
A good friend of mine was booted from the Army 6 months after getting to Bragg for size and weight issues. He'd been in almost 10 years with 2 combat tours, but progressively got heavier every year and let himself go. They put him on a weight loss plan as soon as he got to the 82nd and they told him that he'd have X amount of time to get his weight down & his PT score up or they were going to separate him. Sure enough, he didn't meet the standards and got the boot. That was back in 2014. He was a hard worker, a good teammate and a good soldier, but his physical performance was well below the baseline. It's time to get back to the basics and weed this out. Admittedly I've only ever done a little bit of training with NG & Reserve guys so maybe they're not as strict on standards, but their body composition is embarassing and their physical readiness looks to be zero. I couldn't imagine rucking into an OP with these dudes and having to depend on them to perform. I don't even want to know what their 2 mile time is or whatever the standard run distance/time is since they switched to the new PT program since I got out.
I've been out for almost 12 years and still train everyday on my own so it's hard to put myself in whatever mindset allowed them to get that out of shape.

It’s only been a week since Sec. of War put forth the requirements for weight and PT standards— these boys got a lot of work to do.
Probably a good time to purchase Ozempic stock!
