Trump gutting the federal workforce in DC sealed it for Virginia. Easily one of the most retarded things he’s done in his second term.

The gerrymandering push is President Trump’s fault. Had he not pushed Texas to redistrict the Dems wouldn’t have had the optics to push redistricting in other states.

I agree with this statement. This board sure like to act like the GOP didn't push this gerrymandering BS to another level. I just find it funny when this board plays the victim card over getting exactly what they wanted.

Not sure how the GOP lost all of VA.

The current administration has basically motivated all of the prissy suburban millenial white wine moms to come out of their $2 million Arlington mansions in full force and vote yes for the redistricting map. They’ve always hated Trump, but the way he gutted the federal workforce has only united them and the DC elites against the GOP. Combine that with the fact that the GOP nominee running against Spansberger was an absolute dumbass who never should have been nominated.

Spansberger’s assault weapons ban was a deliberate ploy to push red voters in rural Virginia closer to moving away to GOP strongholds like Tennessee and West Virginia. Seeing that the Dems now control almost all of the districts in Virginia, the population decline in rural VA will only get worse.

Quite the contrary, it was UNDOING decades of gerrymandering that was inflicted on many states for fear of being called raaaccccciiisst.

The supreme court will undo that ridiculous map of Virginia.

Are we going with the bad candidate theme again. sheesh.

As another poster stated, nothing motivates a person to vote more than seeing 300K federal coworkers sent packing with DOGE.

There is also a significant new population of "undocumented immigrants" and Im certain those barbies in northern Virginia made Juanita the nanny's vote count.

But neither was Spanberger. And she was running alongside Jay m-f-n Jones, Mr "I'm good with kids dying violently in their mother's arms if it gets my gun legislation passed." It's really almost unfathomable how that dynamic duo won, but the government shutdown didn't help.
Spanberger and Jones are two of the most unlikeable candidates in recent memory, and that is saying a lot. I think both of them are psychopaths.

The interesting development will be how net migration unfolds until 2030

I think the Texas momentum is slowing and people have started moving back (including to California)

A couple of years ago it seemed like this was going to create a huge advantage in the new census but that may be back to normal by 2030.

the democrat voters in virginia blamed it on trump but this is pretty much how the democrats roll. look at massachusetts, 9 democrat congressmen, zero republicans.

Sounds like he's referencing a Steve Bannon meltdown, and my guess (I did not see this meltdown and I'm just going off Bannon's patterns) is that Bannon is doing his thing where he argues that non-MAGA GOP leaders cost elections b/c they didn't engage in MAGA buffoonery. Had Youngkin debased himself in this way, he would have rallied support and his successor would have won.
