I have discovered that he studied engineering at Louisiana Tech, but no mention of him graduating.

I worked with him very briefly. Garrett is a very smart and passionate guy, from what I can tell. He is very experienced. Worked for Tauzin for a while while Tauzin was peaking, so he knows the ins and outs. He is also a proud Louisianian.
Eta: my bad, it was Tech.

Exactly. Is the issue the OP has with Graves is that he isn't a seasoned enough criminal like the candidate he is voting for?
I would vote for that man's shoes before I voted for Edwards, and I'm pretty sure those shoes hate America.

I have nothing against Graves. The inability to complete a degree could be a factor if true. If it's not, why are so many trying to graduate from LSU, why not drop out now?
People can make fun of me for leaning towards Edwards. But he did complete his degrees, his prison sentence, and it is legal to run. This is why we all get a vote.

He served his time, and didn't whine about it, I guess is what I am saying.

I bet he worked real hard to complete that prison term. That is what we need in a politician, a man who works hard at all he does.

Comparing educational backgrounds is not important when looking at candidates? Is that what you are saying?

Yeah, I actually see finishing a prison sentence as somewhat similar to not graduating college, so for me it's a wash.

There is some logic there.

He didn't wine about it because his sentence was A SLAP ON THE WRIST for his crimes! He also was in minimal security resort prison instead of maximum security "pound me in the arse" prison where he belonged.
The idea that you would vote for a known criminal just because his opponent has a college degree shows that you have some messed up priorities. What makes it even worse is that Graves is not the only opposition!
Have you looked at Dan Claitor? He is a state senator, NOT in the Jindal camp, graduated from LSU in finance, and has a law degree from Loyola.
If you want someone with "experience", a college degree, and who wasn't convicted of 17 of 23 counts (including, but not limited to, racketeering, extortion, money laundering, mail fraud and wire fraud), maybe he could be your guy.

Comparing educational backgrounds
There are so many other more important comparisons I would make in this race. If you plan on voting for Edwards I hope your car breaks down on your way to your voting precinct.

When one of them is an 87 year old felon? No, education is not important. A high school dropout has more business being in congress.

But it just not Graves and Edwards running.
Claitor has a good educational background and so do the others. Seems to me a lack of a college degree could be an issue?

+1. And among the reasons Louisiana is a national laughing stock. Don't be shocked when our favorite felon goes to represent us in Congress-the sheeple will vote for him just like they always have.
