Nothing since then, I was a regular donor before that.

I wonder how much of this is attributed to wokeness and how much of it is attributed to more people doing curbside shopping and grocery delivery

Thinking this mainly because I just placed a curbside order at HEB

I'm sure the Covid related change in habits has something to do with it but I don't get the sense that it's a big factor. This thread seems be going along those lines. I know in our case we haven't given the SA anything since then. We still give to charity but for the past few years we've given mostly to a local food bank/used clothing store and to a local Catholic charity

St. Jude's Hospital for Children is legit. IRS Records show that $.90 out of every $1:00 goes to the children's programs. The highest amongst all the national charities.

Nope. As long as they are doing good things I will put money in the bucket. I expect Corporate Offices to make stupid decisions but don’t punish the every day people.

What a small person you must be to harangue someone for something they had no hand in while they’re trying to help others.

I started giving them a card that says “Redeemable for one white apology, in lieu of cash donation.”

I have no problem with walking right past the bell ringers without even giving them the time of day.

He truly may not have known. There are a lot of people who will spend a little time ringing the bell at one of their set-ups at a store entrance or in a strip center who are not even affiliated with the Salvation Army. They do it simply to donate their time to what they believe is a good cause. That individual may have been completely clueless about the whole racial bias the Salvation Army has chosen to champion.

Our area Baptist association operates a benevolence operation. I won’t ever give to SA.

Quit giving after 2021. I volunteered too. Didn’t realize they were woke until then. I wonder if their board realizes why donations have been down.

I stopped routinely carrying cash 5 or 6 years ago.
Sorry, not a single dime for any beggars, moochers, bums, panhandlers, hobos, vagabonds, tramps, or Salvation Army bell ringers.

So a charitable organization says racism is bad so racists stop giving money to them? Seems to be the gist here.

frick that guy. I would have kept giving him more shite if I were you. Sounds like he’s a huge piece of shite that’s trying to play dumb while he grifts the shite out of people.

And a Merry Christmas to you! I would be shocked if the majority of Salvation Army volunteers knew about the racism of the Salvation Army. Small sample: but the two whom I have asked about it seemed genuinely surprised and disappointed.
