The one I remember most was Reagan.
He passed in California, moved him to DC where there was a service at National Cathedral, laid in state at the Capitol, then went back to California for another service and then buried at sunset at his Presidential library.
I just remember watching the coverage of the lead up to the interment with no announcer and just sitting in awe of respect for the man.

Why would they wait 17 days to officially lay that war criminal to rest?
Family had to wait for the GoFundMe donations to come in so they could pay the funeral home.

That McCain situation was insane. It must've set the world record for most funerals ever for one person.
All because he "saved" Obamacare (Thanks, Johnny), and hated Trump.

Another random fact on large political funerals.
When Senate Pro Temp Allen Ellender passed way in 1972. He died at his residence in Maryland and was flown to Baton Rouge first where he laid in state in the Louisiana state capitol and then at Houma City Hall. His funeral mass was at St. Francis in Houma and was atteneded by the President Richard Nixon, Vice President Agnew, Nixon's opponent Senator George McGovern, and several other senators and house memebers including Majority Leader Hale Boggs who disappeared later that year in a plane crash in Alaska. The celebrant of the mass was Archbishop Hannan.

Who's the guy on the far right in that photo? Looks familiar but I can't place him.

I remember the victim issued a statement from the hospital in effect apologizing that he had been shot by Dick Cheney. THAT is power.

almost nobody has mentioned his death the past week or so. I'd say that's his true legacy.
There is an encomium to him on the front page of National Review Online. I’d say the guy left a big legacy.

The rituals for the beneficiaries of Moloch are very specific.

Just from memory, I believe George Floyd has the record. I'd guess his family is still enjoying the benefits from his odyssey.post mortem.

I was wondering why they were flying at half staff, didn't think Cheney even deserved that privilege!
