The thing is you can't win. Just by them getting you on the air you acknowledging them. They get you in their arena where they control everything. Of course you can layout some ground rules but once the lights go on they can do what they want. No, he did the right thing and this was the perfect response.

Of course I see what you’re getting at there and those are certainly legit points, but I also think that in the future should he accept such an invite, prepare his mind (and soul) and then go on and calmly yet assertively achieve an indisputable win……that one thing could and would earn him serious respect and street cred from quite a few on the other side who otherwise would have probably voted against by default. Real housewives of suburbia come to mind. Something like that, just a single event, could very much possibly set him on a direct path to victory.
