More of this please, we need to move as many agencies out of DC as possible. I give Trump credit for moving Land Management to Grand Junction but we need a LOT more of this.

BREAKING: @RonDeSantis promises to move the Department of Agriculture to Iowa.

Ron is pulling the Ted Cruz method of putting all his eggs into winning Iowa for a sign of any momentum

While I like the concept of moving departments out of DC, this reads to me more of a pseudo bribe/hailmary to win Iowa and create some sort of desperate momentum to continue his campaign. First he likely promises the VP to their governor, then he likely buys the support of the Iowan preacher, now he promises this.

The man is trying, but, like quicksand, the more he squirms, the more he sinks.

Lol, all Trump does is talk about favors he has done for people or how much money he has brought to their state. Have you heard him talk about Ethanol?

Keep trying though. We should all be praising moving every Department we can out of the DC Area. Period. Full stop.

Iowa and lobbyist is why we have ethanol shoved down our throats as it is. IMO the last thing we need is the USDA to move there and let a state with a vested interest push more national regulations that harm all of us.

Iowa is a critical Ag State with probably the best soil and growing conditions on the planet. Makes perfect sense to have it there and keep it there.

Also loved this:

“That is not true,” RON DESANTIS says about @RobertKennedyJr claiming he said the CDC and NIH need to be ‘burnt to the ground.’ “I was not that kind to those agencies.”

It makes more sense to abolish it or at the very least drastically downsize it

The USDA is responsible for a lot of crony capitalism that hurts consumers. Ethanol is the prime example but there are many more.

This board sometimes:

Supports TX independence and kicking the feds out.

Also supports IA (and other states) moving feds in.

I don’t care that it goes to Iowa … as much as I care that it relocates out of DC

If Trump had said this Agressor would say it was bad. He would have no idea why it is bad but he would say it 100% was a bad thing

If I have what I deem purely good faith counterpoint or criticism that I fully believe are worthy of consideration, and not mere antagonization……should I bother proceeding with such a post(s)? Or don’t bother because it’s guaranteed to be dismissed out of hand on account of “nothing more than trying to tear Desantis down?”

Nothing about Trump in the post you replied to. Why are y’all Ron supporters so fricking testy?

And I agree with Ron, move it all away from DC.

I like it. Don't know if it'll have the effect we want but it's worth a shot. If nothing else some DC drones and Big Ag lobbyists will be pumping their money into flyover economies. But most of the lobbyists will stay in DC making deals with Congress.

Yeah. If only DeSantis did something really effective like pardoning rappers instead of J6ers

This board isn’t a monolith.

Since thousands of people post here, my hunch is diff people support diff issues.

I don't think it is practical to get rid of the Dept of Agriculture. It goes back to 1862 unlike most of the agencies that have been created under the New Deal or the Great Society or especially Carter's madness. It actually does provide a lot of very necessary functions, we need to have safe food and manage our agricultural assets. If we must have it though I'd much rather have it based in a place like Iowa over DC.
