I love Ron and all, but the AP selling him as a maverick while showing him at the Jewish coalition and how Club for Growth is hosting him next week =

NEW YORK (AP) — Republican presidential contenders typically fight for prime speaking slots at the Conservative Political Action Conference. But as conservative activists gather in suburban Washington this week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will be courting donors more than a thousand miles away in Texas and California.

The apparent CPAC snub is nothing new for DeSantis, who has emerged in the early phase of the 2024 presidential election as a leading contender for the GOP nomination even as he ignores many conventions of modern politics.

DeSantis is a frequent voice in conservative cultural fights on cable television, but he often avoids gatherings of fellow Republican governors and party leaders, who are quick to complain in private about his go-it-alone approach. He is the only top-tier presidential prospect yet to court voters in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina, the states hosting the GOP's opening presidential primary contests. And he is often at odds with the press, refusing even to notify local media of last week's rare three-state tour with law enforcement.

Indeed, as DeSantis moves toward a White House run, it is becoming increasingly clear that the 44-year-old Republican governor will manage his presidential aspirations in his own way, on his own timeline, with or without allies in national GOP leadership or relationships with the press.

“DeSantis has, in his style and the actions he’s taken as governor, shown a willingness to fight the traditional powers that be, the establishment,” said David McIntosh, president of the Club for Growth, an influential conservative group based in Washington. McIntosh described DeSantis’ style as “refreshing" and suggested the GOP is ready to move on from former President Donald Trump.

For now, DeSantis is perhaps the most potent threat to Trump's effort to win the GOP nomination for the third time. The Club for Growth will host DeSantis among a half-dozen presidential prospects at a closed-door retreat in Florida next weekend with top donors. Trump is not invited.

I've got my suspicions that's it's more that, than DeSantis himself.

The GOPe/RINO/WEF boys want no part of Trump. But if you look at serious polls, like Trafalgar, it's Trump's to lose.

He is at 43.4% in South Carolina, while DeSantis runs second at 27.8%.

The establishment is scared shitless.

There are news articles that make this very clear. Some saying everyone jump in the pool hurry! Then Paul Ryan had a hissy fit saying don't crowd the field.

Republican establishment figures begrudgingly got behind Trump when they needed something.

The same Republican establishment figures are gleefully coalescing behind Ron in hopes they can keep Trump from winning the nomination.

The Republican establishment knows with a Biden or whoever the Dem nominee is, versus DeSantis it's a guaranteed win. The establishment thrives under Biden or DeSantis as we fight over social issues which the establishment can give two shits about.

They just don't want Donald back in because he screws up the borders, trade and war for establishment. That's where they make their money.

Watch out he’s about to copy and paste something from his OMB file that’ll really teach you!

Give me Trump's take on Mitch 2023.

Plus, Trump was 1000% right on China. Matter of fact, Trump's economic engagements were what was bolstering the US economy.

Biden has alienated Russia and China. This is pushing them together, not just politically, but economically which is very bad for the US.

In South Carolina, Both Tim Scott and Nikki Haley are picking up a decent portion of the vote. Remove those two and it will be neck and neck between Trump and DeSantis.

Go out to California. DeSantis is beating Trump by 8 in the latest poll there.

Trump leads national polls because he has 100% name recognition. DeSantis is not there yet among GOP voters, but he will be. Too many people, especially old folk, are not paying attention to politics right now. That will change.

A suspicious/skeptical type might think Haley and Scott are being placed there simply to try and ensure Trump doesn't get a "big win" in an early primary.

Pretty sure DeSantis and Trump are in lockstep on these issues so the establishment loses either way.

What will you do months from now when the limited govt types, like Rand Paul/Thomas Massie get behind DeSantis?

Massie was in attendance for DeSantis' retreat recently so it's clear where he is leaning. I expect that Rand will endorse DeSantis after he declares.

Will be hilarious to see all the arse kissers of the loser accuse Rand of being establishment when that happens.

You are an IGNORANT little man.

We all know every story behind those photos and you aren't winning friends like you think.

Example.... Griffin trying to get in on the action when he refused to back Trump because of Trump's stance.

Example.. Romney who stated Trump can not be the GOP Nominee and hated on Trump... but then wanted a job so he met with him and didn't get the job.

Or Mitch who presented a bat from Louisville Slugger. The BUSINESS who thanked Trump for his work to save American Businesses by lowering taxes here.

You are simply a dumb arse!
