Desantis just beat trump in Western conservative summit straw poll

This is the second largest conservative convention behind CPAC.
Interesting trend if this holds up.....

I don’t think there are many if any conservatives on here who would be disappointed in DeSantis, but it would be sweet to see Trump win it to watch the leftists do their Linda Blair impressions.

The fact that DeSantis is a native from FL and Trump currently is a resident nixes the chance they could be on the same ticket. Trump doubtfully would go back to NY, for any reason, so despite his popularity, it makes less sense that he'd try to unseat a popular FL native and then take the state in the general.

The best thing for the right would be to let Trump go. Descantis can pick up the torch and seems more level headed anyways.

DeSantis is Trump with more political savvy and way, way less baggage. If you want the suburban white women back, and not have half the appointed officials in government actively working against the president, DeSantis is your man.

There is no rule or law that doesn’t allow a presidential/VP ticket from being from the same state. If Trump wants desantis as his VP it’s not a problem

I think you’re wrong here. 100% of democrats will oppose him no matter what and if he doesn’t toe the conservative inc. line, 80% of the GOP will as well.

Desantis isn’t going to be vp. He is either going to wait 4 years or run for president. He gains nothing by being Vice President.

Not that I don’t like Desantis, but the reason we say Trump has baggage is because of the media making it what it is. I want Trump just to see the left and the media melt. All the rest of time is left for Desantis.

Desantis has most of the strong points of trump and few of the weaknesses. He's a great candidate
