And? They can donate to whomever they choose. They will be more accountable to the elected representatives of the people and that is a good thing.

No. It didn't. Iger is smiling right now.

If Bob Iger is smiling it's because this little dust up helped helped get Chapek ousted. Disney stock has been in the shitter

No sir they won't.

None of that changes the shift in what was to be and what the people of FL got in this!

The opposite is true. Disney flexed the muscle here with money as usually happens.

Disney employs 80k people in Florida, they pay close $800 million in taxes to Florida annually.

This is real power. They buy influence over politicians in both parties. Politicians like that including Desantis who has cashed many Disney checks.

This is true of the largest employer or industry in every state of the union. Florida is no exception.

This will never change and you are a fool if you think otherwise.

Many. But you do understand that when dems come into power they can undo what little DeSantis just did right.

What the frick is wrong with everyone? I like Desantis and Trump. I ain't married to either of them and neither are perfect, but they are both a hell of a lot better than anything the left is going to trot out.

All this Trump vs Desantis bullshite is exactly what the left is hoping for.

I don't know why I bother because frick the Republicans and frick the Democrats anyway.

That said, I will vote straight ticket Republican and I will not participate in the primaries unless there is a clear cut rino vs a real conservative.

Trump attacked DeSantis a couple of months ago. For a number of people here he went from being the arse-kicking best governor in the country try to GOPe globohomo the second that tweet went out.

Iger literally told his employees in his Town Hall he wanted Disney to be less political. And what BDR did was yet another reason Chepak was ousted as CEO by their Board. Corporations, especially consumer-facing ones, have zero desire to engage in political warfare with politicians. Especially ones with as much clout and popularity as DeSantis.

Will this actually result in less woke content from Disney+? Maybe not, at least not yet. But it's a positive step. And Disney was suddenly eerily silent about the bill protecting students, after the Reedy Creek announcement was initially made. Just like pulling state pension money from funds that use ESG as an investment criterion.

It's amazing how little you know about how this works.

Nope, this all started (the board infighting) about a year ago.

HHTM & Sentrius.

HHTM would praise DeSantis and bash Trump at the same time.
He just couldn't praise DeSantis.
Sentrius wants DeSantis because he thinks DeSantis will lick Surburban arse and Trump won't.

It's tit for tat and funny.

Trump 2024!

Which would be fine if you didn't write off every time Trump talks to one of them as 8D chess. Every interaction Trump has with them is deep strategy, his absolute shite personnel picks (Milley? Seriously?) were deep strategy; there's an excuse for everything. Jeb! throws a fundraiser because he prefers DeSantis to a queer drug addict and suddenly DeSantis is owned by the WEF. It's retarded.

Milley, you have a point. John Bolton. you don't.

No, it has to do with the current status.

And none of that changes the fact of a shift in what was going to happen with Disney. And that is what this is.

That's just the Trump haters hoping they can influence the only guy on the planet not named Trump that can derail him. There's no universe where they don't reach out to Desantis. The question is what he thinks about it. And he's going to not say squat because it would be stupid to amplify what might be a completely unwanted bit of attention from the NeverTrumpers from the Uniparty sniffing around.

We don't know.

Perfect example of Desantis establishment tricks. Stands up to Disney! But to anyone who actually reads the bill, nothing changes except some window dressing.

14, what do you see in this that is an actual win? On the surface, it does in fact look great for BDR. However, after reading deeper into it, other than a Board swap, what is the win here?
