He hit .300 in Double AA ball facing the likes of Gillum and Crist, tried to step up to the major leagues and he can't get out of his own way.

The reality is, the Republican division has already sunk both of them.
Democrats don't care who Republicans nominate. Their focus is division which seals their victory.
Desantis should have seen this as the Democrat plan from the first day he considered running and stayed as far away as possible.
Instead, he was seduced by NeverTrump who really don't care if Desantis is ever President as long as Trump is gone. They were fine with Biden in 2020 and nothing has changed for 2024.

The DeSantis whisperers told him he wouldn't have to worry about Trump.
The problem with that plan is you needed Democrats to help. Democrats may indeed take care of Trump but they will do it on a schedule that benefits Democrats alone and causes problems for Republicans, not solves them.
