Deportations are nice but why wasn't there any real legislative change to border security?

I mean, I know why. These worthless politicians can't get reelected without the fear of the border. Because nothing has been done the next time a Dem gets in there will just open it back up.

Because all of the laws to have a secure border and sensible immigration policy have already been on the books for over 40 years

Real legislation does not get passed because the people who vote for R or D are too stupid to hold the people they voted in accountable. They know if the president signs an executive order, it is enough for the mouth breathers to turn their attention to the next issue that will get an executive order instead of congressional law.
