Denzel Washington: I don't blame the prison system, it starts with how children are raised

The Oscar winner says making the film did not make him more cynical about the justice system and, when asked about the prison-industrial complex, the “Malcolm X” star offered a surprising take.
“It starts at the home,” he told reporters at the film’s downtown New York premiere. “It starts at home.”
When prodded to expand on his answer, the 62-year-old Mount Vernon native replied: “It starts with how you raise your children. If a young man doesn’t have a father figure, he’ll go find a father figure.
“So you know I can’t blame the system,” he continued. “It’s unfortunate that we make such easy work for them.”

This should be common sense
Blaming crime on poverty is such a lazy excuse
Why do poor countries like Thailand and vietnam have no crime issues?

Give him a couple of days to get bashed by social media cucks and he'll have a sudden change of mind.

And they deal more swiftly and decisively with it than we do. The idea that actions have consequences seems more real over there than here.

I don't believe Denzel really gives a crap what anyone else thinks. He's made his bones.

Why is violent crime lower in Appalachia than the ghetto?

I don't blame society for murderous frick-heads. I blame the frick-heads.

Denzel is gonna have an about-face. Remember when Cosby criticized thugs for wearing their pants too low? Hollywood “processed” him. Denzel will be next on the list if he doesn’t reel this in..

It is true that it starts in the home and no matter what income bracket you come from if your parents raise you correctly, odds are you will grow up to be a decent human being that stays on the correct side of the law.
