Perhaps it is YOU that don’t understand what the term “requirement” means.
And you get too much of your news from Twitter. The difference between what Denmark spends and what the NATO “requirements” are is effectively a platoon of leopard tanks and an extra F35 or two.
Besides, they met the 2% requirement in 2025.
The whole point is that making Denmark out to be a mooching taker is just dumb.
There are actual targets for that. Germany is by far the biggest offender and it’s not close.

For the first time in a decade.

So 20 F35s?
Seems sizable.

We told them to do it. They did it. Denmark has pretty much always done so within the confines of NATO. They are not and have never been the issue with funding or maintaining their own forces.
Again, what’s the problem with the Danes? We have every possible avenue to do whatever we want in Greenland already. But you’re just mad because they won’t sell it to us?

Denmark is the size of Maryland, and about 7 million people.....

No, I said a platoon of leopards or a couple F35’s just looking at the numbers. The difference for Denmark is not much money at all. It costs us more to build a destroyer. That extra .4% is inconsequential for NATO’s capabilities. They already punch above their weight in air power—with F35’s they bought from us.

You’re parroting talking points from Twitter without any thought or knowledge of the situation.

We’ve been subsidizing the defense of NATO and the EU for several decades
It sure is a lot easier for them to have all those generous social programs when Uncle Sugar guarantees their countries safefy.

A decade = ten years.
A couple of F35’s x 10 = 20.
That is sizable.
Now imagine the rest of Europe doing the same.
As I previously posted - freeloaders.

Your ignorance concerning me is stunning.
1. I’m not a Twitter guy.
2. I am quite knowledgeable on the matter.
3. I was clear in my posts.
I have stated it before, and I will state it again…I don’t trust Europe. Much like Canada, they have been in bed with China. They are still in bed with China, just not to the degree that they were since the U.S. (Trump) called them out.
When the ONLY reason that you stop colluding with the enemy of your friend is because you were called out, then you are probably a shite friend.
Then again, a friend that continually mooches off of you is a shite friend.

Are you suggesting that Russia would randomly target Copenhagen with missiles?
No.
Just for clarity though, Kaliningrad has more than just missiles. It is pretty much a forward base for Russia.

Because there’s not anything Denmark can do about that.
That’s what happens when you bail on your responsibilities.

Notice that you omitted the part of the quote where I said there’s nothing we could do about it either.

NONE of those entities have been “in bed” with China to a level that even comes close to the level that the United States is in bed with China.

The United States has had complete and total military access to Greenland since 1951

Providing the threat of retaliation deters military action. That is how we protect NATO countries. Why the hell do all you communist think Ukraine want to get into NATO!!!
