Paying to lease bases/assets in Europe and position our own troops in places we want our troops to be is not paying Denmark’s defense costs.

Cool.

Irrelevant, but whatever.

Did Denmark meet the spending requirements set forth by NATO guidelines. Have they ever?

If not, then who covered their asses. Other European countries that also shortchanged U.S.?

Europe has proven that they are more than willing to take advantage of us (year after year after year).

This is false.

Because WE do it for them.

Exactly. Imagine trying to defend Denmark being cheapskates and us having toll fund their defense

No, we do not repay them for being on our side once in the past. We repay them for signing over Greenland. That is how we repay them. it is called a payment for goods.

You don’t understand what the NATO funding represents.

We are not paying for their militaries. They are simply not funding their own militaries to the level we want them to.

Hundreds of miles from Denmark and regardless, poses zero threat to Denmark.

We patrol zero in Denmark’s airspace or territorial waters and never have. The UK, and Norwegians handle the North Sea.

Any dollar we spend benefits everyone. I don’t have a problem with the 2% you’re being ignorant to the difference in GDP and who funds what.

Educate me. What money that we spend on our share of NATO administration, our leases in Europe, or our own equipment funds Denmark’s armed forces?

How is Denmark financially benefiting from the United States being a member of NATO? What would they be doing if we weren’t in the alliance that they are not doing now?

Note that I’m not talking about Germany, or the Dutch and Belgians, or France, or Italy, or the UK, or Spain—the actual nations mooching off US dollars/physical presence—I’m asking about Denmark specifically.

Want to?

Perhaps it is YOU that don’t understand what the term “requirement” means.

WE are not attacking anybody.....

We will make a deal that will allow the USA to help protect our country and the rest of the world.....from China and RUssia.

Are you suggesting that Russia would randomly target Copenhagen with missiles?

Because there’s not anything Denmark can do about that. There’s nothing we could do about that either FWIW—not with hypersonics from that distance.
