I think it will be beneficial for Republicans if Democrats shut down the government. They are 100% doing that because they want to continue chain immigration and demand open borders.

It's up to congress to come up with a permanent solution that POTUS can sign if they want DACA that badly. Trump is pushing them to negotiate on it and they HATE that.

I don't get the opposition to immigrant vetting. There's precedent in US policy. Hell, we almost didn't let Albert Einstein in due to some of his beliefs.
