I know, and none have made a dent in anything, let alone challenging USD.

Nobody is going to invest in a stablecoin attached to some other currency at a large enough scale to compete with the USD-aligned stablecoins

People just use them to jump from one meme coin to the next trying to get rich quick on some pump and dump scheme. But the stable coin creators are making money.

Tether Holdings Limited reported a net profit of $13 billion in 2024.

So what exactly has been accomplished by having majorities in the house and senate? The confirmations? That's it?

Trump has done his work by EO. These no good SOBs have wasted a golden opportunity to not only help themselves but America. And they still won't cooperate. They simply would rather be in the minority and cry about the Democrats.

That's a feature, not a bug in our modern governance, baw.

Which scam specifically are we talking about?

The Trump meme coins?
World Liberty Financial?
The blatant insider trading?

So was this a bill to enact a huge federal-regulatory scheme?

I suspect this concept will get a revisit.

The Dems want a US Digital currency deployed which will allow highly intrusive individual privacy infringement.

Paul wants no US oversight at all, which, for stablecoin, essentially forces consumers into the grasp of the likes of Sam Bankman-Fried.

Both positions SUCK!

It's almost like Rand has lost his damn mind recently.

What part about being libertarian/small government is in conflict with his stance on this issue?

Crypto.....it's a Ponzi scheme. If you want Fiat currency, you already have it. Don't give your fiat currency to the Winklevoss Twins so they can pump up the value of their crypto holdings then cash out in dollars and buy a huge place in the Hamptons and Newport.

Crypto .....Bitcoin has nothing backing it. No asset or a commodity or real estate that can produce or have real use other than itself. It's backed by dollars and people's belief in its value. Unlike Nvidia, Tesla or Proctor & Gamble that has a product attached to its value.

First off, there WILL BE USD-based Stable Coins.
That is a given.
The USD-based digital coins will be trusted (rightly or wrongly) ... and accepted.

You think blue collar folks should lose their entire savings because the US government had not a damn thing to do with the supposedly USD-pinned SC?

The obligatory rhetoricals (assuming you know the answers)
Do you know what a stable coin is?
Do you understand how it is supposed to be managed?
Are you familiar with what went down with SBF and others?

Why in the world would you NOT want regulation for a digital representation of a fiat currency which is HIGHLY managed?

You’re an idiot. This thread is about stablecoins. Literally tokenized fiat currency.
