Trump repeatedly offered Dreamer solutions in exchange for a wider border deal. Dems said "no dice!"

So Dreamers, who Obama outed, now appear to be hosed.

Sad really.
File it under "things you won't see reported on CNN".

Trump shouldn't use DACA as a bargaining chip for border security. He should do it with immigration reform. A secure border needs to be in place before immigration reform begins.

No protections for them were in the mix......this time. This is going to be an anchor around the necks for the Dems. Dreamers gonna feel abandoned

Hmmm. That'll definitely be interesting to watch. I would bet that they likely wanted dreamers to be left in the breeze so they can use their unpredictable fate as voting fuel.

I agree but it was clearly on the table and the Dems didn't want to make a deal.

Interesting. Dems like using them as a political football but this also gives Trump leverage in future border negotiations

The other day I explained this to my students and it blew their mind that the dems wouldn't take the deal. I have many Latinos in my class and they agreed that the deal was a good deal. I also had my students write an argumentative essay on why the wall is either a good or bad idea. 98% said it was a good idea including all of my Latino students. Several of them sited how their parents did it the legal way and how its wrong for illegals to just come across the border freely.

Dreamers can GTFO. Also, get rid of the anchor baby law. It’s horseshite! I have an idea. If you come to the US illegally and pregnant you get an express upgrade to go back to your origin. We don’t need any more welfare.

Now if you’d like to go through the proper channels and legally come here, then “welcome!”

Its a rural school in south east Louisiana, so yea. We still have a good bit of liberal thinkers, but once they go through my class they usually are not.

A few years back I had a gay basketball player who was eat up with it. When I would mention policies about muslims she would get mad because she thought that all muslims were good and the republicans created "the bad muslims" like it was a conspiracy.

I then showed a video to the class explaining what muslims do to LGBTQ people in majority muslim countries she was stunned and you could tell the light bulb went off in her mind. By the end of the year she was more right leaning then left.

I watch a lot of prageru with my students and they do a good job explaining fake news and how the democrats realy are.

^^^^^
This.

And get “the additional funds” to complete necessary wall.

Then push for immigration reform.

No, he didn't.

If he offered a path to citizenship for all eligible for the DREAM Act in exchange for $25B for the wall, every Democratic representative would jump on board immediately.

Temporary protections that are already being enforced by the court is not an offer.

You can't send them back, it's GD heartless. Make a policy with strong caveats, regardless of hardcore conservatives. Gain more votes than you lose.
Remove plank from (D) platform forever - this is a big deal.

By whatever means necessary, post-haste. Retro-actively. Constitutinal amendment, running it back throught the SCOTUS the same time as RVW, once again, by all means necessary.

That is exactly what was proposed.

In fact, Trump offered to triple Obama's path to citizenship and amnesty number in exchange for tougher security laws.

Dems said "Nope".
Dems screwed the Dreamers.

Then Trump pulled that proposal when Stephen Miller decided it didn't include enough reductions of legal immigration.

If Trump had not pulled the deal, it would have passed.
