which makes the nitpicking in this thread irrelevant

She will not condemn an a-hole who advocates murdering the children of his political opponents.

Democrats in Virginia

I'm a republican in Virginia. Reality set in for me on election night. Lemme tell ya, it really sucks to be mired down by other people's stupidity and apathy. 100% of the candidates I voted for were defeated. And since there is a huge majority of dems controlling both houses in Richmond, they are likely to redistrict us away from districts that accurately reflect the voting base (55/45 D/R) to almost all blue districts. Dems will gain Congressional house seats and then the whole country will get to experience the "benefits" of Virginia's folly.

Same applies nationally.

A “purple state” elected people who want to kill not just us but our children and many even on this board continue to try to laugh it off.

I don’t laugh when someone says they want to kill me and I damn sure don’t see anything remotely funny about a party who elects people who says they want to kill the children of their opponents.

That’s no longer a casual political debate, they’re actively trying to provoke what would amount to a race/cultural war against the right which I think they’ll get eventually if the Trump DOJ doesn’t take down the people pushing it to prevent the nationalists/populists from taking away their power.

It’s great being a liberal and apart of the movement until you actually have to live being a liberal.

Did they?

Or was it rigged?

I know lots of people in Va that did not vote for this.

Incorrect.

These climbs are directly tied to surging demand for energy (data centers mostly, which are popping up all over VA).

VSCC approved these hikes at the end of last year under Youngkins watch.

You can’t deregulate your way out of surging demand. It’s not a magic wand.

What’s happening in VA (as it pertains to energy bill spikes) isn’t really a D or R thing, it’s happening regardless of the governor.

If you have cheap energy (relative to other states) it’s coming for you too, that’s capitalism 101. Those data centers are coming and they will buy it all up. Unless big daddy government gets in the way, which is not ideal to say the least….

Except Virginia passed a “Clean Energy” initiative in 2020 (a D thing) which is absolutely driving prices higher.

This is comical. Liberals have no idea how much they are useful idiots. Progressives in power will throw them out with the bath water... They only need them to vote them in and then it is protect the party and globalists.

Stupid Liberals.

You need to look into anything that says clean energy and what the cost drivers are. This is the reason they are spiking three times as much.

But... you are correct on the data center boom. That needs to be addressed or we will all get nailed.

While that did happen, it’s fantasy pretending that’s what’s really driving this spike.

Most of it is the unprecedented demand surge and the upgrades needed to support the expansion. Again, not really a D or R thing.

Curious, what’s your take on how to address it? Make the data centers pay more? Try and get nuclear up and running asap?

VA is, to be fair, overly reliant on natural gas.
