Trump has show numerous times that he's willing to negotiate and give a little to get a little.
Dems won't even attend meetings to open the government.
Those pompous bastards can frick right on off.

Pelosi has been trying to project Democratic unity in the shutdown fight but did not dissuade fellow Democrats from going to the White House.
In a private meeting Monday night, Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told fellow leaders they were fine with rank-and-file members meeting with Trump, according to a source in the meeting.
Pelosi joked to Hoyer: “They can see what we’ve been dealing with. And they’ll want to make a citizen’s arrest.”

If the wall is still there with nothing in exchange, Trump's position has not changed. Why do Democratic leaders need to go to the White House to hear that his position hasn't changed? He'll just storm out in another tantrum when they tell him the wall is still dead.

This isn't really about border security to start with. It's just an old-fashioned power struggle.

Lol I think they underestimate how long trump is willing to shut the government down. Dude has left thousands of government positions vacant to show that there is an insane amount of bloat and waste.

Per the other thread, government employees out of work for a certain number of days may be subject to a Reduction In Force, meaning permanent dismissal.
They have to do it based on seniority and a few other factors but this would be a way to trim the rolls.
