It's becoming more and more apparent that the first Tuesday in November will be a long, long night for Trump and the Republicans.

First New Jersey and Virginia, then Alabama, then Oklahoma, now this. I don't know how much more winning I can take.

Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day, courtesy of the Tarzana household.

What's the philosophical underpinnings of this "wave" you're seeing? What are the specific "Trump" policies driving this, and what are some of the big proposals the Dems will be looking to implement in their place?

My fear is that none of that is going to matter. People thought that Trump would bring republicans down. He lifted them up. Unfortunately in this case I don't think Trump will be able to save republicans.

It has nothing to do with Trump, but the ineptitude and obstructiveness of Republicans themselves.

There is a special election in PA March 13 for a congressional seat the gop has held since 2002. Trump won that district by 20%. The Hill wrote a story on it today, it will be interesting seeing where that seat goes.

Hey, the DNC was bound to start winning seats at the state level now that the party remembered that there IS a state level.

At the current rate (Assuming it stays constant, which is rather optimistic), at the end of 8 years the DNC will have flipped 288 seats, somewhat shy of the 1000+ the GOP flipped during Obama.

Also in the article is this tidbit:

quote:

The Florida Democratic Party had largely paid no mind to the district won by Good in recent years; however, the party rallied behind Good and her campaign and also provided funds and covered staff and other campaign expenses. Former Vice President Joe Biden ushered in the national spotlight and campaigned on her behalf, which likely boosted the turnout for the election and helped it reach historic levels.

Do you think they DNC can keep up the extreme concentration needed to win on single races during a general election in 9 months?
