Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) called another impeachment trial of Trump a “moot question” because he’s leaving office on Wednesday.
quote:
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), a key centrist who represents a state easily won by Trump in last year’s election, said earlier this month that an impeachment trial after Trump leaves office “doesn’t make any common sense whatsoever.”
quote:
“My clear preference is to create room for nominations and legislation. I’ll defer to leadership but I don’t know that we have to start the trial right after the inauguration,” said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).

A defeated Trump has been put out to pasture with no Twitter and no White House. However, the second Dems move on Impeachment Part Deux Trump is back on center stage with a shot a two victories. Trump will claim a 2nd acquittal proves him right once again and energize his defeated base. Also, it's likely the SCOTUS would rule that impeaching a private citizen ia unconstitutional. Either scenario results in Trump returning to center stage.
This seems like an easily avoidable error by the Dems. Also, impeachment mucks up the Senate calendar. However, their base may demand it.

Trump cut a deal with the swamp because deep down he is one of them.

If they convict him, then he can't try to run again. They want him to create a 3rd party and Ross Perot them to 2024 victory when they won't have the Rona to scam their mail-in ballots and distance observers in swing states.

If he starts his own party they won't impeach him. Mitch McConnell and the rest of the GOPe will feel betrayed because they gambled a lot on the Democrats impeachment of Trump.

Problem is....with millions of new American Citizens (Illegals via Amnesty), the Dems won't need mail in voting anymore. That's been the plan all along. Open the boarders, pay for the immigrants, and boom, huge numbers at the ballot box. I don't see the right ever winning again, sad to say.

Agree... you have to ask yourself, is your life better now than it was before Trump was elected? Regardless of COVID, I would have to say, "NO."
I mean the man pardoned a bunch of rappers but couldn't be bothered to pardon Assange. frick him.

The deal between Turtle and Trump is beginning to take shape.

Rest assured they will at some point. It's what they do with the power once they have it. If recent history is any indication, they'll squander the opportunity as only they seem capable of doing.

I'm so glad that they repealed Obamacare. Oh wait, they never did.

"Are you fricking kidding me? Those losers in the House want us to waste time on a trial when we need to be lining our pockets selling off the country to China?"-- Diane Feinstein.

My guess is the articles never ever get transmitted to the Senate. Nancy will hold them. My guess is Joe just wants it dropped at this point.

Yes, yes it is. The man gave me a good look at what could be accomplished by an outsider. I won't ever be satisfied again with less.

The Dems have realized it’s better to leave Trump “impeached” with no acquittal so it will forever be floating around him.
