Delta Cancels Over 100 Flights on Sunday, But Cites “Staff Shortages”

Last week President Donald Trump asked for a full and unrelenting boycott of several corporations who are operating as political activists to advance an agenda on behalf of the far-left. The corporations spoke against election integrity and are opposed to secure election reforms.
Among those corporations cited for immediate boycott was Delta Airlines. On Sunday Delta cancelled over 100 flights: ” Websites at three Delta hubs showed 33 canceled flights arriving or departing, the newspaper notes, with 19 canceled flights at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, 11 at Detroit’s Metropolitan Airport and three at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.” (link)
Delta is claiming “staff shortages” suddenly appeared in multiple states, simultaneously; that had never happened before, immediately after the boycott began. This story reeks of Delta cancelling the flights because of the boycott, but they don’t want to admit the reason for the cancellation so they make up an artificial justification.
You decide what is likely. A coincidental cancellation across multiple states, affecting multiple flights, in multiple locations… or the boycott is working?

Staff shortages my arse. I work for an airline, that shite doesn’t happen unless there’s a huge weather situation happening.

How is it possible to have staff shortages when no airline is back to 100% capacity. I'm sure they had to lay-off some people at least a year ago. I'm also sure most of those people were unable to get another job.
Delta had a sudden cancellation of flyers, so they HAD to cancel some flights.

Lol. Staff shortages causing over 100 cancellations. Sure, Delta... I bet that sort of thing just happens all the time, right?
Well, I have still never been on a plane in my life, so that'll be the easiest boycott ever, for me. Coke, on the other hand, I've been addicted to for a long time. I'll miss that.
And I'm also done buying Coca Cola.

100 flights canceled? Seems like a normal day for for one is the worst run organizations in business.
Delta sucks.

Is GEOTUS implying people cancelled their flights on Delta bc of this alleged boycott or what?

Not the way to win the messaging war. Congratulations on your new woke, Delta. Enjoy your go broke.

Delta should stick it to Georgia by moving back to Monroe.

I hope people don’t start saying this hurts the employees though. I’m pretty sure the employees and their unions are the ones that forced Delta into taking this ridiculous stand.

All these companies that we are suppose to boycott I’ve never used to begin with so I guess I’m ahead of the game. Still don’t know what a Twitter does and coke tastes like paint thinner smells.

Exactly. This amounts to an employee strike with the agreement of management.

This tells me the American sentiment on wokeness. Otherwise Chick Fil A and Goya would be out of business by now.

I'm so glad I did not buy Delta stock last year during the dip of the market and shut down.

Yeah - you would have only doubled your money. Smart.

I work for DL. I don’t agree with - and neither do the majority of employees - the companies sudden wokeness and involvement in politics.
But the Easter operational disaster had nothing to do with a “boycott” and everything to do with poor operational planning in regards to pilot staffing over the last year. If you don’t believe me we had the exact same issue over thanksgiving and Christmas. Hopefully Memorial Day is not a mess.
In fact this was the busiest weekend for DL since the pandemic. As someone on the front line working...I did not see any evidence of a boycott nor did I have one passenger ask me or mention anything about the companies stance on the voting law.

So, the premise of the Treehouse article is that tens of thousands of travelers cancelled their plans on a moment’s notice, because Trump asked them? OK
