It seems like all the attention on DEI is actually an attempt to discredit it. Familiarity breeds contempt. Then we can look at what happened with Claudine Gay- what a joke. It almost seems like she was planted to discredit the movement.

This is why I voluntarily live under a rock. shite like this only causes more stress and negative feelings. I'm so disappointed by what politics has devolved into. Maybe it's always been like that I was just a sucker for it but my eyes have really been opened to how foolish our politicians are in the last 10 years. And the populace falls for it like a bunch of suckers.
We need to stop giving that sort of bs any attention. We need to be solutions-oriented instead of blame-oriented. It's getting us nowhere.

Maybe. I guess I'm not totally sure what is meant by DEI or how it positively or negatively impacts the general population. I came to the tread to post about systemic racism, so I haven't really touched the DEI aspect.

Harvard made her the face of DEI when she had no business being part of the conversation, really. But it definitely discredited the movement and makes people question the worthiness of other black women in academia who hold leadership positions.
