WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has prostate cancer and his recent secretive hospitalization was for surgery and later to treat an urinary tract infection related to that operation, doctors said Tuesday.

The 70-year-old Austin was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Dec. 22 and underwent surgery to treat the cancer. Austin developed the infection a week later. Senior administration and defense officials were not told for days about his hospitalization or his cancer.

When it takes you over a week to get your story straight, you know it's a doozy.

He likely didn’t want anyone to know he has cancer; thus, he lied.
But as SoD, what he wants is irrelevant.
This was a colossal breakdown in security protocol, and the WH knows it.

Last year I asked my urologist if he needed to do my annual finger massage of the prostate. ???He responded that after aged 70 the finger was considered not useful as prostate cancer is slow growing and its more likely I would die from something else.

Yeah, I mean every guy on this website knows a guy who has had prostate cancer and most of them are alive or died of something else.

Which makes it all the more curious there was so much deception/silence here.

Prostrate cancer surgery is only elective procedure when you chose to live. This procedure is not elective surgery in any sense of the word. If he had stones in his bladder and chose to have them removed surgically I still would not believe it was elective procedure but could account for the UTI part and possibly a more plausible explanation. The fat man probably had penile implant which would be both elective go bad and a reasonable answer for a weeklong evasive response. He has been cozying up to that tranny admiral lately and probably wanted to get a stretch to get through that fat arse

If the media doesn't apply any scrutiny to one of the two political parties, and covers for them at every opportunity, this is what you wind up getting.

I think it’s time for people to realize that the President isn’t running the show. At this point, it’s blatant denial if you don’t recognize this.

This isn’t a breakdown in the chain of command. It’s a misunderstanding if the chain of command.

Probably needs to use a catheter to urinate and improper use of those as I can attest can easily cause a UTI and may be a cause too of his UTI.

There goes your theory

You’re far more magnanimous than I.

I don’t think anyone misunderstood a thing.

This was just another instance of elected and non-elected government officials knowingly and heedlessly deciding the rules apply to others, not to them.

They can all rot.

John Kirby just said Biden learned of the cancer diagnosis....TODAY.

Also, there will be no consequences.

What the hell is going on?
