Mayor Bill de Blasio, Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams jointly announced that all public schools would be serving all vegetarian menus on Mondays.
The meatless Monday program will start in the 2019-2020 school year.
Cutting back on meat a little will improve New Yorkers' health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “We're expanding Meatless Mondays to all public schools to keep our lunch and planet green for generations to come.”
“Meatless Mondays are good for our students, communities, and the environment,” said Carranza. “Our 1.1 million students are taking the next step towards healthier, more sustainable lives. Our students and educators are truly leaders in this movement, and I salute them!”
The mayor’s office says the program will be cost-neutral.

I’m sure meatless Monday’s will offset India’s work (see 100 most polluted cities thread)

Liberals are scum.
They don't want you to have meat, but insist on making sure Coco Puffs and HoHos are available to everyone on welfare.

What he really means is the city can't afford the meat for all 5 days any longer thanks to his fricktarded inability to manage the city's finances.

You can bet this a plan to warm people up to it before going full vegetarian 5 days.

I bet it saves $ and is the only reason they are doing it. Poke that fire NYC...

Someone please snap a picture of this dumbass having a huge burger or some meat for lunch paid for by taxpayers while declaring meatless Monday’s.
