Did I forget to mention that Kerry was specifically NOT invited to the discussions and yet showed up anyway despite being told he was unwelcome?

The White House, in response, has said that Israeli behavior could put the relationship between the two nations in jeopardy, specifically mentioning Israel's comments about Kerry himself and his plans for the cease-fire.

Kerry in particular pissed off Israel by insisting that Turkey and Qatar have a seat at the table of any peace discussions,
Kerry KNEW that sitting down with Davutoglu in Paris was a kick in the nuts toward Israel and did it anyway. This is how Davutoglu described Hamas on Sunday:
"In reality, it is an international emancipation movement cherishing many different opinions and approaches,”
This guy and Kerry are birds of a feather.

There's a difference between "stopping the fighting temporarily" and "stopping the fighting permanently". And I don't mean genocide.
Letting Israel continue their offensive to root out the last of the tunnels and to take out the remaining weapons caches within Gaza will make it much easier for them to accept a peace.
Because at that point, Hamas will be stuck holding its dick in its hand and hoping that Iran thinks they're a better investment than Assad.

FIFY
BTW, if our POTUS permitted terrorists to build tunnels, stockpile rockets, and form and train armies around our borders; we'd all be screaming.
Israel has to actively go out and strike out at Hams or any of the other groups sworn to destroy Israel. They can' afford to let them get too strong.
Its about survival.

I don't think its a mystery who's side Obama is on. You don't hear him ask hamas to back off.

quote:RTE didn't send the flotilla to Gaza. The flotilla was private, it was just under a Turkish flag. If he'd sent the flotilla to Gaza it would've had a naval escort.
Him pulling a Godwin, him sending that flotilla to Israel and then calling for the Hague to investigate, etc., all disqualify him from being at the table.
I don't see how or why the other two things "disqualify" him from being at the table. They're just talk. You seem to think diplomacy is about taking umbrage at as many things as possible whenever possible to ensure you talk to as few people as possible. That's a poor way to conduct international affairs.

what a bunch of amateurs in the WH.

The reason for Turkey and Qatar having a seat at the discussions is because Israel refuses to negotiate directly with Hamas. The entire point of having peace discussions is that, at some point, you discuss things with people you don't already agree with.
If Israel categorically rejects any discussions with not only Hamas, but anyone who might not be sympathetic to Israel, then the entire exercise is pointless.
Refusing to discuss things with anyone but Egypt, which is run by a dictator who generally supports Israel's latter-day "Hell or Connacht" platform for Palestine, is a meaningless show.
And before Morsi was overthrown, Israel would have refused to negotiate with them too.

So, should Iran take part in the talks? ISIS? AQ? The Assad government in Syria? Lebanese Hezbollah?

These unconditional unilateral ceasefires usually are one sided, but I trust Kerry and Obama to guarantee the Israel's safety, don't you? Why should the Israelis be worried?
...I trust Obama or Kerry about as far as I could throw Moochelle!!

Hamas is a terrorist organization, if you belong to Hamas you are guilty of belonging to a terrorist organization and worthy of time in jail or death, just as we kill Al qadea with drones. DUH.
Seems Hamas rockets blew up a hospital of their own today, according to the IDF.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says the United States must look to Qatar, an ally of the terrorist group Hamas, for advice in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
“And we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization,” she told CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley.
How many "humanitarian organizations" refuse to let people evacuate war zones and refuse to let them seek treatment?

It's time that our country severs ties with Israel.
