Because Scientist, guess, assume, read Science Digest and generally pull predictions like this out of of their butts.
This issue here is these scientist use first semester physics equations calculate the angular rotation speed of the earth in the referenced article.
They will not use fundamental physics formula/models to predict earth's average temperature with a change in CO2 concentration in earth's atmosphere. It does not provide the answer they want.
Instead they use measurement, which can be biased in many ways and statistics which can be adjusted in many ways to produce an outcome that we are all going to burn up if you don't stop driving your SUV.

A couple things, which have likely already been said.
1) When the earth was formed the length of a day was 6 hours. It's been changing (getting longer) since then
2) The presence of the Moon is slowing Earth's rotation and extending the day by a little under 2 milliseconds every 100 years; it's gravity tugs on earth slowing it down

Logically if a day grew every so slightly longer then over a course of a year both nighttime and daytime would grow the same?
No. The actual length of a full day is getting longer, which is the time it takes for the earth to spin one time (so, inclusive of day and night).

Play this little fun game-
Just google “Climate change is affecting ______ “. Pick any noun of your choice. You’ll get quite a kick out of it.

Another fundamental flaw in the premise of climate change is the impact that CO2 has on global temperature. It is negligible.
This one always gets me. Ask any progressive what percentage of our atmosphere is CO2 and you'll likely get an answer somewhere around 20%, when the truth is that is so small that it's barely measurable and is considered a "trace" element, right around four one-hundredths of 1%.

So if days get longer then nights stay the same and only daytime grows?
I call BS on this.
Besides all of this have happened before. There were periods when sea levels were much higher, and when continents were aligned differently.
The Earth had been changing forever and more or less CO2 isn’t going to change that.

no, it' not that either.

So a day grows longer yet night and daytime stays the same? So we have a longer dawn and longer sunset?
If that’s the case, we can’t survive as a species.

From an engineering/physics perspective that "trace" can be calculated. I've calculated it. Reposting:

My penis is getting longer.. thank God for climate change.

When the planet is thicker around the middle, its daily rotation takes a bit longer.
Are they saying we should strip mine every available inch of land near the equator to reduce global temps?

Days are getting slightly longer — and it's due to climate change
Hey lefties I love longer days...so don't encourage me to go more vroom vroom, cause I'll do it. Dumbarses.

No, it’s due to gravity and all objects do it.
Take our moon for example, it slowed down so much that it stopped its rotation altogether and is what is known as tidal lock.
It’s bc the center of mass and center of gravity are not one and the same.

Wouldn't that make nights longer in the winter?

just bull hockey like every other climate change claim

If each day is getting longer does that add to the expected lifespan of all living organisms......maybe it shortens the lifespan, all this climate change BS has me confused.

How much tax can I pay to reduce this climate change?
