Pretty sure the law they made that we are following is that people today, the states, make their own laws. So seems like it’s our laws that we are following

Does he know that the forefathers realized that over time, the constitution may need to be changed to keep up with the times. Hence the mechanism in the constitution for proposing and ratifying constitutional amendments.
They just made it require support of 3/4 of the states to ratify so that constitutional amendments weren’t being passed on a whim everytime one political side regained a majority
