But where exactly was the outrage when Dave Chappelle did the racial draft skit as a white news reporter?

This shows me that you have no idea why blackface is offensive. Historical context, get some.

Again, Dave Chappelle is one of my favorite comedians. His Black White Supremacist skit was one of the funniest comedy skits I’d ever seen. The guy is a comedic genius. But that doesn’t mean it’s ok.

I guess what I’m trying to get at is the fact that the left has created this wild variety of racial nitpicking to where people don’t even know what’s right or wrong anymore. What Northam did was dumb, and blackface is definiely not the most appropriate choice to sport judging by what it has stood for historically. But there needs to be a standard across the board and not just by who gets offended by what.

It's a stupid comparison. Blackface was used in the minstrel shows to mock blacks with often exaggerated features. That's why the outrage over blackface exists. Theres no "whiteface" that exists with the history of underlying racism of blackface. No one is offended by whiteface.

Before I get downvoted into oblivion, I don't agree with the hysteria over what's called blackface today. Painting your face black =/= blackface. It shouldn't be treated the same. I think, like Chapelle's skit, a person can go in costume to emulate someone and its intent isnt mockery or racism.

This is such a stupid cop-out. Getting outraged over speech only serves to give that speech power.

Chapelle wasn't trying to mock white people at all? How about the movie white chicks?

It's sad really. I use to like comedy. At least 70% of it is shite now.

Same here. Did you know that different races and section of the world/country are different and those differences are funny? I do and that shite used to be hilarious when comedians could point it out.

So you're telling me there were exactly zero white stereotypes with Chappelle's whiteface skits?

And you aren't helping matters with this stupid shite. You're just trying to curate something else to be offended about. Recognize your error and own up to it.

Yep, that's when people had thick skin. I still find white stereotypes funny as frick even those playing victim seems to be the flavor of the decade.

So dawning the color of a different race and highlighting stereotypes of that race is, or is not, allowable?

He was obviously and it's hilarious you huge pussy.

The difference is white people weren't completely dehumanized like blacks (the entire reason black face is offensive)

frick what is it like to be so stupid?

White people do this.

Black people do that.

When white people's power goes out... they panic.

When black people's power goes out.... they plan it.

Are you being purposefully stupid? Are you really comparing minstrels in the 1830s (who could own black people) to Dave Chappelle in the 2000s. If you can't see the obvious difference there is no help for you.

You know literally nothing about Irish, Jewish, or Italian American history.

How about the Chinese that built the railroad? You ever hear Asian Americans throwing a pissy fit when someone holds their eyes back and says ching Chong? No. Of course you dont. Because Asians preach victory not victimhood to their kids.

No, all I’m asking for is for there not to be a double standard in all of this.

Nobody was pissed about it because it was hilarious.

I think the only time I ever saw it was when it first aired, and I still remember the Wu Tang Clan pick like it was yesterday.

Something that happened over 200 years ago? Get over it.

Irish and Italians were put in ghettos in America. You don't see the Italian community with its panties in an uproar everytime someone makes a stupid Italian joke with the stereotypical accent.

Eddie Murphy played an old Jew in Jew face in coming to America. The Jewish community didn't give a shite.

Look at me, I'm really beside myself, that must mean I'm right and you're wrong. There's no help for you.

EDIT - It's either right or wrong, saying one is more wrong than the other is a pathetic copout from a pathetic twat.
