Just another day with a podcast show telling some of us what we already knew......

Authors claim that Vitamin D supplementation could eliminate not only COVID, but most respiratory viruses.
Claim that areas with Vitamin D deficiencies are all hit hard by COVID.
FDA/USDA guidelines for Vitamin D supplementation are WAY OFF. 700 ICUs to their 4000 ICUs.
Can't vaccinate out of a pandemic when animals are also natural hosts for the virus.
There is a concerted effort to suppress information in the media and medical communities.

Conclusion, health officials at BEST are incompetent in not telling people about Vitamin D or at WORST are withholding the information on purpose. Highly recommend listening.

I'm not sure there is another explanation TBH.

PS: They also stated that the whole Vitamin D is fat soluble so it's dangerous is garbage (over supplementation isn't as big of an issue as commonly thought). Think that it came from the fact that Vitamin A is also fat soluble and can cause issues if over supplemented.

If there were no supplements, how would one go about getting Vitamin D?

Especially withholding Vit D info from Blacks and Latinos who can't produce high levels of Vit D efficiently from the sunlight because of their heavy pigmentation.

Spend more time in the sun. When Covid first hit it seemed like Vitamin D might be a factor, the worst clusters were in areas like Seattle that had few sunny days, and among people in nursing homes that spent little time outside.

you need to be careful. vitamin d is fat soluble, so unlike vitamin C thats only water soluble and any excess you take is just flushed out in urin, its possible to build up so much vitamin d that it becomes toxic, can destroy your kidneys and cause heart issues. your body does not have any good way to get rid of too much

Sardines have a lot of Vitamin D along with other healthy minerals and protein. Check the label next time you're in the grocery store.

Find a style and brand you like and go from there. They're a good Vit D alternative during the winter when we don't have available sun light.

You have to take a shitload of vitamin d before it becomes toxic.

This is a myth addressed early on in the podcast by 2 scientists who are experts on the subject of Vitamin D.

What you are saying is true of Vitamin A, another fat soluble vitamin.

Lay at the beach

All those years of roasting in the sun surfing have paid off for me

No wonder they closed the ocean

Practically everyone is D-deficient.

My functional health Dr. had me on about 50k IU/week for a number of months until it all got squared away, and that was almost 6 years ago

Although I've got redskin running through my veins, the irish in me cancels that out, so i grow my own, but our melanin heavy compatriots need a supplement in the wintertime.

I started taking Vitamin C and D right the pandemic hit. I got Covid in June 2020 and had a mild case of it. Still taking C and D, I’ve had 3 or 4 colds since then. It used to take me about 10 days to get over a cold, but I’m back to normal about 3 days after symptoms appear now. I hope it lasts.

only helps with the temperature is in high 80's or above. at lower temperature the sunlight is incapable of causing the chemical reaction in the skin that creates "vitamin d3".

A crash course on Vit D. Harvard Website

There are many factors such as age, skin color, overall health, and where you live that play a big factor in your Vit D levels. Unfortunately, most everyone believes if they just go outside in the sun a few times a week they are fine.

Only way to know is to get your blood tested. Many, many people would be very surprised to see they are Vit D deficient.
