Hank, I don't believe for a second that your tunnel vision is really that narrow (take that as an indirect compliment). There's a part of me that thinks that you intentionally do that just to convince yourself and others that you are making an intelligent counter-argument.

My OP is based on the premise that when it comes to Christianity, and Jesus in particular, there is a double-standard as to how mainstream media treats the topic versus other so-called religions. I provided a specific, albeit anecdotal, example to illustrate my argument.

You labeled my example as FAKE news and now splitting hairs to argue that the FIFA organization cannot be considered as "mainstream media". Do you realize that you're doing the equivalent inverse of my original argument? You chose to tear apart my "anecdotal example" to employ as a blanket counter-argument against the over-arching premise of my OP.

Let's keep going then - here are more examples and before you point out these are obtained from the music industry and therefore "invalid examples", I am also bucketing Hollywood & Entertainment with Mainstream Media:

Answer this question. Have you seen any other "Mockumentaries" of any other religion? How about in music?
How about cases where politicians quoted text from other "holy" books as a joke?

I mean I’m sure Jesus did not look pretty on the cross. He probably looked extremely gruesome considering he was beating severely before having to even carry the cross and eventually getting nailed to it. I think more is needed to understand what Damar’s intent was in wearing that jacket.

For context this was what Jim Caveizel as Jesus looked like when he was nailed to the cross in The Passion

So, it would appear that FIFA is simply applying to Christian symbolism the same rule that applies to all other religious and/or political symbolism.

FIFA's way down on the list of things I care about, but you cannot possibly think that they apply this equally.

Show me the FIFA player wearing an Islamic crescent or a Mogen David (other than those incorporated into a national flag) during a game.

I don't think anyone is disputing that. You just used a terrible example for your OP.

Congrats. I'm sure you can. Just seems that if your original comment claims an example of the "mainstream media" doing something, maybe make the bare minimum effort to make sure it is actually the mainstream media doing it. It makes you look a little unhinged if you start saying everybody that does something that edits out Christian messages is the "mainstream media". Helps credibility to get the facts right.

Everything but a few Far Right outlets is "Mainstream"
Everything is a "false flag"
Everything is a "psy-op"
Everything is a conspiracy
Everything is a cover-up

And suddenly our journalism standard goes through the roof.

I'll try better next time on this Political Discussion forum hosted by an LSU Football website.

If you have a problem with Jesus or Jesus' followers, just say it directly. Do you ever have anything original to say? You sort of pop in on threads, make a few remarks, and slide on out to wait for your next opportunity. What is your purpose and what do you stand for because I haven't figured it out still.

Didn’t notice the jacket but the interview he gave with Strahan indicates he’s pretty thankful to the Big Guy for his new lot on life. Don’t think it’s meant the way you’re thinking it is.

From the original post.....

Mainstream Media: This is NOT fine. Blur it out!

Read it a couple times to help comprehension. So you are sticking with the story that OP is not at all implying that the "Mainstream Media" was responsible for blurring it out? Again... read it slowly....

Ok dude... sure. Can't help some people. Later
